On-site dissolved-gas analysis and electric-resistivity tomography as new tools to trace CO2 mineral sequestration in aquifers

open access: yesScientific Reports
Mineral sequestration of CO2 in basalt aquifers is a promising pathway for permanent carbon storage. Within the DemoUpStorage R&D project, CO2 was dissolved in saline groundwater and co-injected with He as an inert tracer into a deep basalt aquifer at a ...

Nanoparticle Shape Dictates Catalytic Performance in Selective Hydrogenation of Butadiene Over Au‐Pd Core‐Shell Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the exposed crystal facet of shape‐controlled Au‐Pd core‐shell catalysts though colloidal synthesis enhances their catalytic performance in the industrially relevant selective hydrogenation of butadiene. ABSTRACT Selective hydrogenation of butadiene is a critical step in purification of alkene feedstocks for polymer production and is ...

Core–shell structured gold nanoparticles as carrier for 166Dy/166Ho in vivo generator

open access: yesEJNMMI Radiopharmacy and Chemistry, 2022
Background Radionuclide therapy (RNT) has become a very important treatment modality for cancer nowadays. Comparing with other cancer treatment options, sufficient efficacy could be achieved in RNT with lower toxicity.

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Theoretical study of XUV pulse shaping due to the modulation of an IR pulse in macroscopic systems

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
Propagation effects are widely recognized as the origin of complex features observed in macroscopic absorption spectra. Here, we examine the evolution of spectral reshaping driven by laser-imposed initial phase modulation during pulse propagation.

Effect of Gamma Irradiation on Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Fish Gelatin Film Isolated from Lates Calcarifer Scales

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2013
The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of gamma irradiation on mechanical and thermal properties of fish gelatin films prepared from scales of Lates calcarifer. The films were irradiated by gamma rays at varied doses (0-50 kGy). The

Long‐Range Coordination Environment Modulates Single‐Atom Local States and Systemic Impact on CO2 Photoconversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Terminal groups on Cu porphyrins modulate the electronic states of single‐atom Cu centers through a long‐range electronic effect, without altering the Cu coordination geometry. Meanwhile, a multi‐descriptor framework is established that incorporates porphyrin regulation, hybrid catalyst properties, and CO2 photoreduction capabilities.

Radiation-Induced Degradation of Pirimiphos Methyl in Aerated Solution

open access: yesAtom Indonesia, 2004
Degradation of pirimiphos methyl (1) as an active ingredient in Minawet insecticide 250 EC formulation in aqueous solution was studied. The absorbance, pH, COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) in aerated solution, and the analyses of degradation products at ...

Magnetic‐Field Control of Surface States in CoFe2O4 Thin Films for Nitrate Electroreduction to Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐assisted CVD of heterometallic single‐source precursors modulates thin‐film surface electronic structure and interfacial charge transfer. Field‐grown (Cobalt ferrite‐1T)CF‐1T films exhibit stabilized electronic states, lower kinetic barriers, and markedly enhanced nitrate‐to‐ammonia electrocatalysis versus (Cobalt ferrite‐0T) CF‐0T ...

Photoisomerization-mediated tunable pore size in metal organic frameworks for U(VI)/V(V) selective separation

open access: yesNature Communications
Selective extracting uranium from seawater is quite challenging, particularly the presence of vanadium, which poses a significant obstacle for most amidoxime absorbents.
