A flow electrolyzer employing formate dehydrogenase on a porous TiO2‐carbon felt cathode is developed for paired electrolysis of CO2 and waste (plastic and biomass) to produce formate. The electrolyzer operates with an initial cell faradaic efficiency toward formate of almost 200% at a low cell voltage of −1.5 V, which also enables bias‐free operation ...

Harnessing Phenonium Ions in Synthesis
Phenonium ions have frequently been viewed as intermediates of theoretical interest, but whose synthetic utility was limited. This minireview outlines how physical‐organic characterization has led to a better understanding of controlling their formation, which has resulted in modern strategies to form phenonium ions straightforwardly and use them in a ...

Bismuth–Selenopeptides Combine Potent Bioactivity with Exceptional Kinetic Inertness
A major obstacle for bismuth peptides and proteins, in which Bi(III) is coordinated by three cysteine residues, is their kinetic lability when challenged with strong metal chelators. By simply replacing cysteines with selenocysteines, we significantly increased kinetic stability, extending the lifetime to several days.
