PROBLEM OF BENDING OF A TRANSVERSELY ISOTROPIC PLATE

Abstract The thermoelastic equilibrium of a transtropic plate is considered when the symmetry conditions are satisfied on the lateral faces, and special conditions are specified on the upper and lower faces. The exact solution to the problem was found using general solutions and the method of separation of variables (Fourier method).

Elephant‐Skin‐Inspired Porous Cementitious Tiles with Programmable Crack Networks for Passive Cooling

Elephant‐skin‐inspired crack networks are programmed in porous diatomaceous earth (DE)‐cement composites using substrate‐guided, stress‐concentration induced fracture. The resulting crack lattices act as capillary conduits that redistribute water, while the porous matrix stores moisture.

Associating a red‐NIR phosphorescent octahedral hexanuclear molybdenum cluster compound with hexaethyleneoxide chains bearing mesogenic units on both ends leads to an emissive hybrid liquid crystal showing mesomorphism on a very unusual temperature range down to −25°C.
