In situ click chemistry generation of cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Cyclooxygenase-2 isozyme is a promising anti-inflammatory drug target, and overexpression of this enzyme is also associated with several cancers and neurodegenerative diseases.

Insect‐Microbe‐Based Laccase: Untapped Natural Resource for Industrial and Biotechnological Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
The insect‐microbe interplay fulfills a key ecological role involving the degradation of ligninocellulose biomass. This is coordinated by the secretion of different kinds of proteins, of which ligninolytic enzymes, such as laccases (Lacs), are of prime importance.

Plasma alkaline phosphatase polymer phism and it’s association with productivity in Iraqi fowl

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2008
Plasma alkaline phosphatase isozyme in Iraqi fowl was studied by acrylamide gel electrophoresis. Two phenotypes fast and slow, were observed. These two phenotypes have been shown to be controlled by one single autosomal locus with two allel AKPF and AKPS.

Phenylalanine‐Based DNA‐Encoded Chemical Libraries for the Discovery of Potent and Selective Small Organic Ligands Against Markers of Cancer and Immune Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FM‐DEL1 and FM‐DEL2 are constructed by installing one or two sets of building blocks on a phenylalanine central scaffold. FM‐DELs are screened against markers of prostate, and renal cell carcinoma, and against an immunological target expressed on the surface of natural killer cells.

Trypanosoma cruzi: inhibition of alpha-hydroxyacid dehydrogenase isozyme II by N-allyl and N-propyl oxamates and their effects on intact epimastigotes

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 2004
N-allyl (NAOx) and N-propyl (NPOx) oxamates were designed as inhibitors of alpha-hydroxyacid dehydrogenase (HADH) isozyme II from Trypanosoma cruzi. The kinetic studies showed that NAOx and NPOx were competitive inhibitors of HADH-isozyme II (Ki = 72 µM,

A Protein Kinase C Translocation Inhibitor as an Isozyme-selective Antagonist of Cardiac Function*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1996
Protein kinase C (PKC) isozymes translocate to unique subcellular sites following activation. We previously suggested that translocation of activated isozymes is required for their function and that in addition to binding to lipids, translocation ...

Autosomal Recessive Cerebellar Ataxias: Translating Genes to Therapies

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Autosomal recessive cerebellar ataxias are disabling neurodegenerative genetic conditions affecting balance and coordination. Advancements in genomic testing have improved diagnosis, leading to a new focus on the development of targeted precision therapeutics addressing cellular, biochemical, and genetic disease mechanisms with a resulting emphasis on ...

Prostaglandin Endoperoxide H Synthases (Cyclooxygenases)-1 and −2*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1996
Prostaglandin endoperoxide H synthases (PGHSs) catalyze the conversion of arachidonic acid and O2 to PGH2, the committed step in prostanoid biosynthesis (Fig. 1) (1).

Isozymes for Cultivar Identification in Kiwifruit [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1991
The usefulness of isozyme banding patterns as genetic markers in kiwifruit [Actinidia deliciosa (A. Chev.) C.F. Liang et A.R. Ferguson] was investigated using starch gel electrophoresis. Fifty-four entries putatively belonging to seven female and two male kiwifruit cultivars were examined for 13 enzyme systems (AAT, ACO, GDH, G6PDH, IDH, MDH, ME, MNR ...

Isozyme inheritance and variation in Actinidia [PDF]

open access: yesHeredity, 1996
Isozyme inheritance and variation in Actinidia was investigated using 23 enzyme systems. Ten isozyme loci from six enzyme systems, Acp-2, Est, Prx-1, Prx-2, Prx-4, Prx-5, Pgi-2, Pgm-2, and Tpi, were found to be inherited as single Mendelian genes in families of two interspecific crosses.
