One-Year Comparative Evaluation of iStent or iStent inject Implantation Combined with Cataract Surgery in a Single Center [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Therapy, 2019
This retrospective consecutive case series assessed 12-month effectiveness and safety of iStent® or iStent inject® trabecular micro-bypass implants with cataract surgery in patients with open-angle glaucoma (OAG) in a real-world clinical setting.Effectiveness outcomes consisted of intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction; glaucoma medication reduction ...

iStent inject: comprehensive review

Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, 2021
Microinvasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGSs) are new surgical procedures for treatment of glaucoma. They aim to safely and effectively reduce intraocular pressure (IOP) with minimal trauma to the eye and less complications. The first-generation iStent is the first approved ab interno MIGS implant for management of open-angle glaucoma.

Comparison of the iStent Inject® versus the iStent Inject® W—Both in Combination with Cataract Surgery—In Open-Angle Glaucoma

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Medicine, 2023
We compare the short- and mid-term postoperative outcomes of the iStent inject® with its successor, the iStent inject® W. A retrospective monocentric study was performed to compare the iStent inject® used for cataract surgery with the iStent inject® W, also used for cataract surgery.

Managing coexistent cataract and glaucoma with iStent

Survey of Ophthalmology, 2017
The iStent is an intraocular implant that resides within Schlemm canal and allows for direct bypass of the trabecular meshwork by aqueous fluid. It is one of several procedures termed microinvasive glaucoma surgery. The prominence of microinvasive glaucoma surgery is growing because of its role in lowering intraocular pressure in mild to moderate ...

iStent inject in phakic open angle glaucoma

Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 2015
The effectiveness and complication profile of the iStent inject implantation among different open angle glaucoma subgroups were analyzed. In this retrospective cohort outcome study, 35 consecutive patients suffering from glaucoma (primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) N = 17, pseudoexfoliation glaucoma (PEX) N = 15, and pigmentary glaucoma (PG) N = 3) were

The iStent® MIGS Family: iStent®, iStent Inject®, and iStent Supra®

2013
Microinvasive glaucoma surgeries or MIGS, an acronym coined by Ike Ahmed, represents a fundamental shift in glaucoma surgical philosophy. MIGS exploit existing physiologic outflow pathways allowing both rapid placement and visual recovery. The surgeon interacts with small anatomic functional structures in a minimally destructive manner.

Rothia Mucilaginosa Endophthalmitis Associated With iStent Inject Implantation

Journal of Glaucoma, 2022
Postoperative endophthalmitis caused by Rothia mucilaginosa, a gram-positive, coagulase-negative Micrococcaceae of the oropharyngeal flora, is rare and all previously reported intraocular implant-related cases have resulted in evisceration. R. mucilaginosa endophthalmitis has also not been described with any glaucoma implant device.

iStent implant

Acta Ophthalmologica, 2013
Abstractistent is a novel device that canulates Schlemms canal to enhance physiological outflow and lowers intraocular pressure. Results of istent surgery combined with phaco would be presented, together with the results of intraoperative flow test. Results of multiple istents and istent Supra would also be presented.
