Associations of cannabis use, tobacco use and co‐use with brain volume: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesAddiction, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and aims Cannabis is the most widely used illicit drug worldwide and is often co‐used with tobacco, the leading cause of preventable death. Although cannabis and tobacco have distinct neurobiological actions, their associations with brain volumes are unclear.

Characterisation of the Mesial Root and Middle Mesial Canal Morphology in Mandibular First Molars: An Ex Vivo Micro‐CT Study

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This ex vivo study characterised the mesial root morphology of mandibular first molars with a middle mesial canal (MMC) using micro‐CT. Among 469 scanned molars, 42 (8.96%) presented an MMC. Morphological parameters analysed included canal configuration, chamber orifice features, dentine thickness, isthmus type, and aspect ratio.

Reduced regional brain cortical thickness in patients with heart failure. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
AimsAutonomic, cognitive, and neuropsychologic deficits appear in heart failure (HF) subjects, and these compromised functions depend on cerebral cortex integrity in addition to that of subcortical and brainstem sites.

Enterococcus faecalis and Endodontic Treatment Failure: A Qualitative Systematic Review of Its Role and Elimination Strategies

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to synthesize evidence on the influence of Enterococcus faecalis on endodontic treatment failure and strategies for its elimination. This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and was registered in PROSPERO (CRD420251022741).

Conduction Velocity around the Tricuspid Valve Annulus during Typical Atrial Flutter by Electro-anatomic Mapping System

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2006
Objective: Conduction velocity around the tricuspid valve annulus (TA. during typical atrial flutter (AFL. has been shown to be slowest in the inferior vena cava-tricuspid valve (IVC-TV. isthmus when compared to the septal or free wall segments of the TA.

Separating non-isthmus- from isthmus-dependent atrial flutter using wavefront variability

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2005
The aim of this study was to separate isthmus-dependent atrial flutter (IDAFL) from non-isthmus-dependent atrial flutter (NIDAFL) from the electrocardiogram (ECG) based on functional differences. The ECG analyses of F-wave shape suboptimally separate NIDAFL from IDAFL.

A Review of Mitral Isthmus Ablation

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, 2012
Mitral isthmus ablation forms part of the electrophysiologist’s armoury in the catheter ablation treatment of atrial fibrillation. It is well recognised however, that mitral isthmus ablation is technically challenging and incomplete ablation may be pro ...
