This article introduces a soft wearable eyelid sling device incorporating a hydraulic soft artificial muscle (SAM) for achieving complete closure of an eyelid. The SAM is driven by a cam mechanism that provides a displacement profile closely matched with those of a healthy eyelid.

Marco Viscardi (1978) si è addottorato in Filologia Moderna nel 2009 (Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II”) discutendo una tesi sulle lezioni dantesche di F. A. Ozanam (1813-1852); attualmente borsista presso l’Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Storici, lavora ad una monografia su satira ed umorismo in Italia fra 1816 e 1861. Cultore della materia presso le cattedre di Storia della Critica Letteraria e Letteratura Italiana II, titolare il prof. Giovanni Maffei, si è occupato di romanzo storico fra Otto e Novecento e di storiografia letteraria, e ha pubblicato interventi su Tomasi di Lampedusa, Manganelli e Giuseppe Giusti.
