A Person Fit Test for IRT Models for Polytomous Items

Psychometrika, 2007
A person fit test based on the Lagrange multiplier test is presented for three item response theory models for polytomous items: the generalized partial credit model, the sequential model, and the graded response model. The test can also be used in the framework of multidimensional ability parameters.

Constructing the 32-item Fitness-to-Drive Screening Measure

OTJR: Occupational Therapy Journal of Research, 2017
The Fitness-to-Drive Screening Measure © (FTDS) enables proxies to identify at-risk older drivers via 54 driving-related items, but may be too lengthy for widespread uptake. We reduced the number of items in the FTDS and validated the shorter measure, using 200 caregiver responses ...

The Effect of Interactions between Item Discrimination and Item Difficulty on Fit Statistics.

Journal of applied measurement, 2021
Residual-based fit statistics are among the most common indicators of fit to the Rasch model. There is considerable discussion in the literature of the efficacy of item fit statistics in detecting measurement disturbances. However, to date there has been no investigation of whether these fit statistics are robust to interactions between item ...

Assessing Item Fit for Unidimensional Item Response Theory Models Using Residuals from Estimated Item Response Functions

Psychometrika, 2013
Residual analysis (e.g. Hambleton & Swaminathan, Item response theory: principles and applications, Kluwer Academic, Boston, 1985; Hambleton, Swaminathan, & Rogers, Fundamentals of item response theory, Sage, Newbury Park, 1991) is a popular method to assess fit of item response theory (IRT) models.

Item Parameter Estimation and Item Fit Analysis

2009
Computer-based testing (CBT), as computerized adaptive testing (CAT), is based on the availability of a large pool of calibrated test items. Usually, the calibration process consists of two stages.

Investigating the Local Fit of Item-Score Vectors

2003
This paper discusses a nonparametric approach for testing the local fit of an item-score vector by using the person response function Unlike most person-fit statistics, which test the fit of the complete pattern, the person response function indicates which subsets of items are misfitting.

Likelihood-Based Item-Fit Indices for Dichotomous Item Response Theory Models

Applied Psychological Measurement, 2000
New goodness-of-fit indices are introduced for dichotomous item response theory (IRT) models. These indices are based on the likelihoods of number-correct scores derived from the IRT model, and they provide a direct comparison of the modeled and observed frequencies for correct and incorrect responses for each number-correct score.

An Examination of Item Response Theory Item Fit Indices for the Graded Response Model

Organizational Research Methods, 2009
The current study examined the Type I error rates and power of several item response theory (IRT) item fit indices used in conjunction with the graded response model (GRM). Specifically, S — χ 2 , χ 2* , and adjusted χ 2

Global- and Item-Level Model Fit Indices

2019
One of the primary goals in cognitive diagnosis is to use the item responses from a cognitive diagnostic assessment to make inferences about what skills a test-taker has. Much of the research to date has focused on parametric inference in cognitive diagnosis models (CDMs), which requires that the parametric model used for inference does an adequate job
