Progressive Iterative Approximation with Preconditioners [PDF]
The progressive iterative approximation (PIA) plays an important role in curve and surface fitting. By using the diagonally compensated reduction of the collocation matrix, we propose the preconditioned progressive iterative approximation (PPIA) to improve the convergence rate of PIA.

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Re-iterated approximation methods for nonlinear Volterra integral equations
In this article, the Newton-iteration scheme based upon iterated Galerkin operator is applied for solving non-linear Volterra Urysohn integral equations of the second kind for smooth and weakly singular kernels. A one step of improvement by iteration to

Asymptotic Behaviors of the Lorenz Curve for Left Truncated and Dependent Data [PDF]
The purpose of this paper is to provide some asymptotic results for nonparametric estimator of the Lorenz curve and Lorenz process for the case in which data are assumed to be strong mixing subject to random left truncation.

Approximate Modified Policy Iteration
Modified policy iteration (MPI) is a dynamic programming (DP) algorithm that contains the two celebrated policy and value iteration methods. Despite its generality, MPI has not been thoroughly studied, especially its approximation form which is used when the state and/or action spaces are large or infinite.

To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

The O(α2) initial state QED corrections to e+e− annihilation to a neutral vector boson revisited
We calculate the non-singlet, the pure singlet contribution, and their interference term, at O(α2) due to electron-pair initial state radiation to e+e− annihilation into a neutral vector boson in a direct analytic computation without any approximation ...
