Coupled observation‐operator approximations in outer‐loop coupling data assimilation
We present a methodology for coupled variational data assimilation that allows the effect of coupled observation operators whilst maintaining separate minimisations across model components. This allows us to constrain the atmosphere, ocean, and sea‐ice components of our coupled model directly from satellite radiances. We illustrate the system in action

The Read-Bajraktarević functional on Hardy-Orlicz spaces
In this article we prove the existence of complex local fractal functions of the Hardy-Orlicz class. A local fractal function is the fixed point of the Read-Bajraktarević functional.

Error in ERA5 2‐m temperature identified using GraphCast
We identify a recurrent error in ERA5 2‐m temperature over the Ethiopian Highlands that occurs predominantly at 0600 UTC on ≈7%$$ \approx 7\% $$ of dates. The artefact is caused by the 2D optimal‐interpolation scheme assimilating temporally displaced surface reports (e.g., 0900 UTC) into the 0600 UTC analysis.

Higher pretreatment β‐hCG, greater tumor burden, higher FIGO stage/score, and choriocarcinoma were associated with higher chemoresistance risk in gestational trophoblastic neoplasia. In exploratory network analyses, etoposide‐containing regimens showed lower predicted chemoresistance.

Some applications of IFS based on square symmetries
This paper describes a fractal based method for generating the pseudorandom permutations. We construct an Iterated Function System (IFS) belonging to the class of square symmetries and simulate the pseudorandom walk on a square. In this way some families

The Effects of External Macroeconomic Shocks and Uncertainty on Bangladesh's Fiscal Sustainability
ABSTRACT In recent years, Bangladesh has adopted a deficit‐biased fiscal policy, supported by robust GDP growth and relatively low interest rates, capitalizing on its access to concessional financing. However, Bangladesh's graduation to lower‐middle‐income status and its gradual integration into the global economy have exposed the country to external ...

A Short Note on Fractal Interpolation in the Space of Convex Lipschitz Functions
In this short note, we consider fractal interpolation in the Banach space Vθ(I) of convex Lipschitz functions defined on a compact interval I⊂R. To this end, we define an appropriate iterated function system and exhibit the associated Read–Bajraktarević ...

Non‐Rigid 3D Shape Correspondences: From Foundations to Open Challenges and Opportunities
Abstract Estimating correspondences between deformed shape instances is a long‐standing problem in computer graphics; numerous applications, from texture transfer to statistical modelling, rely on recovering an accurate correspondence map. Many methods have thus been proposed to tackle this challenging problem from varying perspectives, depending on ...

Resilience, Sorority, and Emotional Ambivalence in Women's Academic Leadership
ABSTRACT This study analyzes the gender dynamics experienced by women in senior management positions in Brazilian Federal Higher Education Institutions and, from an intersectional perspective, how these dynamics shape the identity construction of women in these roles. Drawing on Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), the study investigates the

A Horse Race of Machine‐Learning Methods to Predict Banking Crises
ABSTRACT To examine if one machine‐learning model can consistently elucidate financial vulnerabilities, both over time and across levels of development, this paper applies 13 machine‐learning algorithms to evaluate comparative forecasting performance across several banking crises.
