Improvement of Shuffled Iterative Decoding
2006 IEEE Information Theory Workshop - ITW '06 Chengdu, 2006An improved version of shuffled belief propagation of iterative decoding of LDPC codes is proposed. The proposed scheme can speed up the convergence of iterative decoding. Simulation results verified our conclusions.

Adaptive iteration for fountain decoding
The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications, 2010Abstract This article investigates fountain decoding combined with adaptive iteration algorithms in additive white gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. This paper introduces three adaptive iteration decoding strategies: Parity Check, cyclic redundancy check (CRC) and signal difference ratio (SDR) to fountain decoding to reduce the decoding complexity ...

Iterative decoding of multiple descriptions
Proceedings DCC'99 Data Compression Conference (Cat. No. PR00096), 1999This paper considers the transmission of multiple descriptions over noisy channels rather than the on-off channels that are traditionally considered. We introduce the use of iterative decoding techniques similar to those used in "turbo" decoding to decode multiple correlated descriptions transmitted over a noisy channel.

Graphical Models and Iterative Decoding
2000Since the invention of turbo codes, there has been a lot of interest in iterative decoding schemes. It is also known that the turbo decoding algorithm and several other previously known iterative algorithms are instances of Pearl's belief propagation algorithm applied to a graph with cycles, while the algorithm is known to work only for graphs without ...

CONVERGENCE IMPROVEMENT OF ITERATIVE DECODERS
2006Iterative decoding techniques shaked the waters of the error correction and communications field in general. Their amazing compromise between complexity and performance offered much more freedom in code design and made highly complex codes, that were being considered undecodable until recently, part of almost any communication system.
