ENGINEERING DESIGN OF THE ITER DIVERTOR

1997
This paper reports on the status of the mechanical and thermo-hydraulic design of the divertor. It describes the current design of the divertor plasma facing components (PFCs), and the steel structure (cassette body) that supports these PFCs.

Joint Transceiver Design for Iterative FDE

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2012
This paper considers the wideband single-carrier transmission through frequency-selective wireless channels with a quality-of-service (QoS) requirement. Power allocation at the transmitter and iterative frequency domain equalization (FDE) at the receiver are jointly designed to achieve the target QoS with minimum transmission power consumption.

Iterative design of a voice dialog design environment

Posters and short talks of the 1992 SIGCHI conference on Human factors in computing systems - CHI '92, 1992
In this project, we successfully applied iterative prototyping and participatory design to the design of a complex system --- a voice dialog design environment. The success case for this project is really a story about how we got "this far this fast." In less than four months, a mixed team of professional voice dialog designers and academic researchers

A Testable Design of Iterative Logic Arrays

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1981
Summary: Testable design of unilateral iterative logic arrays (ILA) of combinational cells under the assumption of a single cell failure is considered. The concepts of one-step testability and one-step C -testability are introduced. Methods to modify the basic cell flow table so as to facilitate fault detection and location are given.

Iterative Auction Design for Tree Valuations

Operations Research, 2015
We study a special class of multi-item valuations (tree valuations) that exhibit both value complementarity and substitutability. We provide a linear programming formulation of the efficient allocation problem that is of polynomial size in the number of agents and items.

ITER blanket designs

Fusion Engineering and Design, 1995
Abstract The ITER first wall, blanket, and shield system is being designed to handle 1.5 ± 0.3 GW of fusion power and 3 MWa m−2 average neutron fluence. In the basic performance phase of ITER operation, the shielding blanket uses austenitic steel structural material and water coolant.

Design of in-vessel components for ITER

Fusion Engineering and Design, 1997
Abstract This paper reviews the present design status of the major in-vessel components of ITER: the blanket, the divertor and the vacuum vessel. Substantial emphasis in the design of all in-vessel systems is given to the maintenance concept. For the blanket, integrating the remote handling approach with a robust design capable of reacting all ...

ITER: design overview

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1991
Abstract The ITER design, jointly conducted by Euratom, Japan, USSR and USA under the auspices of the IAEA, is progressing with an optimized tokamak machine, having a major radius of 6.0 m, magnetic field on axis of 4.85 T, and a nominal plasma current of 22 MA.

Iterative user-interface design

Computer, 1993
A method for developing user interfaces by refining them iteratively over several versions is presented. Each iteration is subjected to user testing or other usability-evaluation methods designed to uncover usability problems. This method not only eliminates problems of this nature, but also allows designers to take advantage of any insights into user ...

ITER compact design

15th IEEE/NPSS Symposium. Fusion Engineering, 2002
This work has been performed on the basis of the version of ITER proposed by P.H. Rebut: central solenoid used as a bucking post for the TF coils, layer winding instead of pancake winding. The purpose of this work is not to propose a different project but to investigate solutions which minimize the radial thickness of the TF coils.
