Parallel multilevel iterative methods
Solving a selfadjoint elliptic boundary value problem, the discretization results in a large scale system of linear equations. The system has a symmetric positive definite coefficient matrix with a block structure. The preconditioning matrices for such a system may be constructed using blocked multilevel iteration.

Background/Aims Asymptomatic hyperuricemia is a precursor of gout and is also associated with cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney disease. The aim of this study was to understand perceptions about asymptomatic hyperuricemia and views about urate‐lowering therapy in people with asymptomatic hyperuricemia.

This paper is devoted to the analysis of a system of generalized variational inclusion problems involving α-averaged and Cayley operators within the framework of a q-uniformly smooth Banach space. We demonstrate that the problem can be reformulated as an

Objectives There is growing interest in evaluating new strategies to delay or prevent post‐traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) in individuals who have sustained anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. This study sought to determine characteristics of potential treatments that are acceptable to patients with ACL injury.

An Efficient Sixth-Order Newton-Type Method for Solving Nonlinear Systems
In this paper, we present a new sixth-order iterative method for solving nonlinear systems and prove a local convergence result. The new method requires solving five linear systems per iteration.

On the Origins of Iterative Substructuring Methods [PDF]
Substructuring methods were invented in the engineering community. A very early precursor is the so called “Moment Distribution Method”, or “Hardy Cross Method” named after its inventor [11].

Objective The objective was to identify factors determining acute arthritis resolution and safety with colchicine and prednisone in acute calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) crystal arthritis. Methods We conducted a post hoc analysis of the COLCHICORT trial, which compared colchicine and prednisone for the treatment of acute CPP crystal arthritis, using a ...
