The non-iterative transformation method [PDF]
The Blasius flow is the idealized flow of a viscous fluid past an infinitesimally thick, semi-infinite flat plate. The definition of a non-iterative transformation method for the celebrated Blasius problem is due to T{ }pfer and dates more than a century ago. Here we define a non-iterative transformation method for Blasius equation with a moving wall,

Multiple sclerosis clinical decision support system based on projection to reference datasets
Abstract Objective Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a multifactorial disease with increasingly complicated management. Our objective is to use on‐demand computational power to address the challenges of dynamically managing MS. Methods A phase 3 clinical trial data (NCT00906399) were used to contextualize the medication efficacy of peg‐interferon beta‐1a vs ...

Iterative and Non-iterative Splitting approach of a stochastic Burgers' equation [PDF]
In this paper we present iterative and noniterative splitting methods, which are used to solve stochastic Burgers' equations. The non-iterative splitting methods are based on Lie-Trotter and Strang-splitting methods, while the iterative splitting approaches are based on the exponential integrators for stochastic differential equations.

The Property of Chaotic Orbits with Lower Positions of Numerical Solutions in the Logistic Map
In this paper, we introduce an iterative method with lower positions of true numerical solutions located in the real orbit in order to investigate the property of the logistic map.

Dynamical Systems Method for solving ill-conditioned linear algebraic systems
A new method, the Dynamical Systems Method (DSM), justified recently, is applied to solving ill-conditioned linear algebraic system (ICLAS). The DSM gives a new approach to solving a wide class of ill-posed problems.

Extending Broyden's method to interaction problems
The solution of problems involving the interaction of different systems is a domain of ongoing research, although often a good solver already exists for each system separately.

Multi-step derivative-free preconditioned Newton method for solving systems of nonlinear equations [PDF]
Preconditioning of systems of nonlinear equations modifies the associated Jacobian and provides rapid convergence. The preconditioners are introduced in a way that they do not affect the convergence order of parent iterative method.

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

The Averaged Kaczmarz Iteration for Solving Inverse Problems
We introduce a new iterative regularization method for solving inverse problems that can be written as systems of linear or non-linear equations in Hilbert spaces.

Ion channel function of polycystin‐2/polycystin‐1 heteromer revealed by structure‐guided mutagenesis
Mutations in polycystin‐1 (PC1) or polycystin‐2 (PC2) cause autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). We generated a novel gain‐of‐function PC2/PC1 heteromeric ion channel by mutating pore‐blocking residues. Moreover, we demonstrated that PC2 will preferentially assemble with PC1 to form heteromeric complexes when PC1 is co‐expressed ...
