PackNet: Adding Multiple Tasks to a Single Network by Iterative Pruning [PDF]
This paper presents a method for adding multiple tasks to a single deep neural network while avoiding catastrophic forgetting. Inspired by network pruning techniques, we exploit redundancies in large deep networks to free up parameters that can then be ...

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

A novel scheme of k-step iterations in digital metric spaces
In computational mathematics, the comparison of convergence rate in different iterative methods is an important concept from theoretical point of view. The importance of this comparison is relevant for researchers who want to discover which one of these ...

Blind Super-Resolution With Iterative Kernel Correction [PDF]
Deep learning based methods have dominated super-resolution (SR) field due to their remarkable performance in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. Most of these methods assume that the blur kernel during downsampling is predefined/known (e.g., bicubic).

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

The foremost aim of this paper is to suggest a local study for high order iterative procedures for solving nonlinear problems involving Banach space valued operators. We only deploy suppositions on the first-order derivative of the operator.

The Averaged Kaczmarz Iteration for Solving Inverse Problems
We introduce a new iterative regularization method for solving inverse problems that can be written as systems of linear or non-linear equations in Hilbert spaces.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Computing the $\sin_{p}$ function via the inverse power method
In this paper, we discuss a new iterative method for computing $\sin_{p}$. This function was introduced by Lindqvist in connection with the unidimensional nonlinear Dirichlet eigenvalue problem for the $p$-Laplacian.

Diffusion‐based size determination of solute particles: a method adapted for postsynaptic proteins
We present a diffusion‐based approach for measuring the size of macromolecules and their complexes, and demonstrate its use on postsynaptic proteins. The method requires fluorescein‐labelled protein samples, a microfluidic device that maintains laminar flow for said samples, a microscope recording the emitted fluorescent signals, and an analytic ...
