Itinerary Planning for Cooperative Truck Platooning

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2019
Abstract A cooperative truck platoon is a set of virtually linked trucks driving with a small intra-vehicle headway enabled by connected and automated vehicle technologies. One of the primary benefits of truck platooning is energy savings due to the reduction of aerodynamic drag on the platooned vehicles.

A hybrid approach to plan itinerary for tourists

2016 5th International Conference on Informatics, Electronics and Vision (ICIEV), 2016
With the rapid development of information, communication and transportation systems, the number of tourists is increasing all over the world. Most of the tourists are facing problems when they visit unfamiliar places. That's why it is often difficult for an individual tourist to make an optimal sightseeing itinerary plan during a tight schedule.

Optimization approaches to support the planning and analysis of travel itineraries

Expert Systems with Applications, 2018
ABSTRACT This paper addresses the problem of elaborating travel itineraries considering the visitors´ profiles, travel distances and costs. Other parameters such as how much the tourists value the attractions offered are particularly taken into account, as well as their preferences regarding the order of visiting these attractions.

Reliable itinerary planning in transportation networks

2020
This thesis seeks to utilize network modeling and conditional probability concepts to develop methods that will give greater transparency to the reliability of various modes of passenger travel. There is a wide range of research and applications on deterministic shortest travel time itineraries.

An efficient computational approach for automatic itinerary planning on web servers

Proceedings of the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference, 2021
The automatic itinerary planning service requires to generate multiple-day schedules automatically under user-specified POIs and constraints. Knowing as an NP-Hard optimization problem, the task is commonly solved by (meta-)heuristic algorithms such as the genetic algorithms (GAs).

Itinerary Planning with Category Constraints Using a Probabilistic Approach

2017
We propose a probabilistic approach for finding approximate solutions to rooted orienteering problems with category constraints. The basic idea is to select nodes from the input graph according to a probability distribution considering properties such as the reward of a node, the attractiveness of its neighborhood, its visiting time, and its proximity ...

Optimal itinerary planning for mobile agents-based management

GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005
Proposed management architectures, incorporating mobile agent (MA) technology, fail to address scalability problems, when monitoring tasks employing multi-hop agents are considered. This is because they lack mechanisms, which can guarantee that the agents itinerary is optimised so as to minimise migration traffic and round-trip latency.

Multi-Agent Itinerary Planning for Wireless Sensor Networks

2009
Agent-based data collection and aggregation have been proved to be efficient in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). While most of existing work focus on designing various single agent based itinerary planning (SIP) algorithms by considering energy-efficiency and/or aggregation efficiency, this paper identifies the drawbacks of this approach in large scale

Travel planning problem considering site selection and itinerary making

Proceedings of the 2018 Conference on Research in Adaptive and Convergent Systems, 2018
Tourism development has become indispensable activity for people's daily life, especially self-driving travel. We study destination choice and itinerary problem for self-driving travel planning. A fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) is utilized to solve the destination choice problem.
