ABSTRACT Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models are increasingly used in pediatric drug development and matching such models to the target population is an important consideration. A US pediatric PBPK model was developed incorporating four sub‐groups describing physiology and enzymatic/transporter levels for White, African American ...

Freely distributed bed-net use among Chano Mille residents, south Ethiopia: a longitudinal study
Background A huge discrepancy was reported between ownership versus utilization of insecticide-treated bed nets (ITNs). To acquire the benefits of ITNs, households need to use and not merely own them.

We developed core‐shell iron oxide@ZIF‐8 magnetic‐MOF nanohybrids via a seeded growth method for magnetic hyperthermia‐triggered drug delivery. Cubic cores and thinner shells maximized heating. In‐situ doxorubicin encapsulation achieved 98% loading, better than surface encapsulation. Polymer coating improved stability.

Reversible Modulation of Glycan Recognition in C‐Type Lectins by Calcium/Lanthanide Exchange
NMR reveals that Ca2+/Ln3+ exchange reversibly modulates carbohydrate recognition by C‐type lectins. C‐type lectins are Ca2+‐dependent glycan‐binding proteins involved in immune recognition and host–pathogen interactions. Previous structural studies suggested that lanthanide ions can replace Ca2+ while preserving protein structure, raising the ...
