ITS-RFLP characterization of black Aspergillus isolates responsible for ochratoxin A contamination in cocoa beans

European Food Research and Technology, 2009
In the present study, ochratoxigenic mycobiota in cocoa beans was identified at species level by digestion of the ITS products using the endonucleases HhaI, NlaIII and RsaI. Of the 132 isolates of Aspergillus section Nigri collected from cocoa beans, 89 were identified as A. tubingensis, 27 as A. niger, 10 as A. tubingensis-like and 6 as A. carbonarius.

ITS-RFLP pattern of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (Nematoda: Aphelenchoididae) does not reflect nematode virulence

Journal of Forest Research, 2013
Analysis of the restriction fragment length polymorphism of the internal transcribed spacer region of ribosomal DNA (ITS-RFLP) is an efficient tool for classifying Bursaphelenchus nematodes at or below the species level. In B. xylophilus, it has been shown that the ITS-RFLP pattern of Japanese avirulent (nonpathogenic) isolates is different from that ...

An ITS-RFLP method to identify black Aspergillus isolates responsible for OTA contamination in grapes and wine

International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2007
Ochratoxigenic mycobiota in grapes from representative wine regions in Valencia was identified. Black aspergilli were predominant among the different Aspergillus spp. isolated. Restriction digestion analysis of the ITS products was tested as a rapid method to identify isolates of black Aspergillus species from grapes. Restriction endonuclease digestion

ITS–RFLP- and RAPD-based genetic variability of Trypanosoma cruzi I, human and vector strains in Santander (Colombia)

Parasitology Research, 2009
Chagas disease is a severe public health problem in Latin-American countries. In Colombia, the predominance of Trypanosoma cruzi I has been described in the literature, with a broad heterogeneity between strains. However, most of the studies carried out centered on isoenzyme analysis, with a smaller number that focus on other molecular methods. In this

Genetic diversity analysis of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum causing stem rot in chickpea using RAPD, ITS-RFLP, ITS sequencing and mycelial compatibility grouping

World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2011
Sclerotinia sclerotiorum is one of the most devastating soil-inhabiting fungal plant pathogens infecting various crop plants including chickpea. Genetic diversity of 24 isolates of S. sclerotiorum representing 10 different states of India was determined by different molecular markers and mycelial compatibility grouping (MCG).

Correlation between ITS-RFLP & sequencing for Staphylococcus Aureus typing in Lebanon. (c2009)

2017
Includes bibliographical references (leaves 39-53). ; Staplylocol'l'UJ' aureus has been associated with a wide range of serious communityand hospital-related infections worldwide. The molecular characterization of S. aureus is of both clinical and infection control importance. In this context we studied the virulence determinants among 130 S.

Comparison of ITS RFLP patterns of Gracilaria (Rhodophyceae, Gracilariales) populations from Chile and New Zealand and an examination of interfertility of Chilean morphotypes

Journal of Applied Phycology, 1999
Restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) patterns of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of the nuclear ribosomal cistron and crossability trials were used to characterize four morphotypes of Gracilaria from Lenga, Isla Santa Maria and Maullin, Chile, and two morphotypes from sites in New Zealand.

Genetic polymorphism of Leishmania major in two hyper endemic regions of Iran revealed by PPIP-PCR and ITS- RFLP.

Archives of Iranian medicine, 2012
Zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis (ZCL) is a polymorphic disease that may show various clinical manifestations. Although it is suggested that the genetic variability of the parasite is one of the factors influencing clinical manifestations of leishmaniasis, no data exists regarding genetic polymorphism of Leishmania major (L.major).
