Conservation of terrestrial invertebrates: a review of IUCN and regional Red Lists for Myriapoda [PDF]
Red Listing of Threatened species is recognized as the most objective approach for evaluating extinction risk of living organisms which can be applied at global or national scales. Invertebrates account for nearly 97% of all animals on the planet but are

Ex situ seed banks and the IUCN Red List [PDF]
Extinct, or just extinct in the wild? Plants lost from in situ habitat, but represented in seed banks, are labelled extinct despite the potential for restoration. A change in the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List definition of extinct in the wild is needed to improve the status and prospects of threatened plant species.

Global extinction risk assessment of soil-dependent species: recent progress and recommendations
Soil biodiversity is crucial to the maintenance of multiple critical ecosystem functions and services. However, remarkably little is known about the conservation status of most soil-dependent species.

Abstract The Pleistocene is a key period for understanding the evolutionary history and palaeobiogeography of the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). The species was first documented in southeastern Iberia at the beginning of the Middle Pleistocene and appears to have rapidly spread throughout Southwestern Europe, where it was found in numerous ...

Patterns and biases of climate change threats in the IUCN Red List [PDF]
Abstract International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List assessments rely on published data and expert inputs, and biases can be introduced where underlying definitions and concepts are ambiguous. Consideration of climate change threat is no exception, and recently numerous approaches to assessing the threat of climate ...

This study employed eDNA technology for biodiversity surveys and conducted high‐density spatiotemporal eDNA sampling to evaluate ecosystem‐scale patterns across temporal, spatial, and habitat dimensions. We identified 97 fish species from 12 orders, 29 families, and 71 genera using eDNA technology. Spatially, fish diversity indices were correlated with
