Weak Structure and Environment‐Associated Loci Across a Eutrophication Gradient in a Resilient Coral Species

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
Marine species often have large effective population sizes and high connectivity that reduce drift and preserve diversity, but how these features shape adaptation to anthropogenic change remains unclear; Oulastrea crispata, a stress‐tolerant Indo‐Pacific coral, is an ideal test case along a strong eutrophication gradient. Using RADseq on 90 individuals

Why Does Runoff From Some Catchments Not Recover After a Prolonged Drought?

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study investigates the hydrological non‐stationarity in the Victorian state of Australia, using water balance analysis and a modelling experiment with observed hydroclimate and remotely sensed data over 1982–2020 from 120 catchments. The hydrological non‐stationarity is much more significant in North‐West Victoria.

Extraordinary methane levels in a small bar‐built tropical estuary

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography Letters, Volume 11, Issue 4, July 2026.
Abstract Small estuaries link uplands and nearshore marine environments but are understudied in many regions. We quantified spatial and temporal variability in CH4, CO2, nutrients, and organic matter in a small, deep, bar‐built tropical estuary in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

A Physics‐Based Approach to Project the Impact of Climate Change on Occurrence of Compound Floods in a Large River Delta

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Climate change is intensifying compound flooding in coastal regions, caused by the co‐occurrence of coastal and fluvial floods. This trend increases the probability of disasters beyond historical precedent, posing growing threats to densely populated deltas.

Ensemble‐Based Analysis and Moisture Sources of Double Rainbands Over South China

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract This study investigates the role of moisture in double rainbands over South China through combining ensemble sensitivity analysis and Lagrangian backward tracing. During 10–11 May 2022, a high‐impact double‐rainband event hit South China with coexisting inland and coastal heavy rainfall.
