Bio‐Inspired Micro‐Fin‐Assisted Multi‐Modal Vascular Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A magnetic guidewire with a micro‐fin–integrated tip is introduced for multimodal cardiovascular navigation. The micro‐fins exploit fluid drag to augment magnetic torque, enabling bifurcation traversal at 15 mT, tolerating 45° misalignment, bidirectional crawling, and buckle self‐correction.

Imaging in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction - a case report

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport, 2023
Introduction and purpose: Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) facilitates 3-dimensional visualization of the blood vessels. Nowadays, it becomes increasingly supportive in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) guiding in patients with acute myocardial ...

Coronary Artery Fistulous Perforation Effectively Managed During Chronic Total Occlusion Recanalization: A Case Report

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Coronary perforation is a feared complication of chronic total occlusion‐percutaneous coronary intervention (CTO‐PCI), especially in large vessel perforations, which often require implantation of covered stents (CS). However, the deployment of multiple CSs may not always be effective.

Development of High-Frequency (>60 MHz) Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) Transducer by Using Asymmetric Electrodes for Improved Beam Profile

open access: yesItalian National Conference on Sensors, 2018
In most commercial single-element intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) transducers, with 20 MHz to 40 MHz center frequencies, a conductive adhesive is used to bond a micro-sized cable for the signal line to the surface of the transducer aperture (

Procedural Characteristics of Intravascular Ultrasound–Guided Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Their Clinical Implications

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2022
Background Despite the clinical benefits to intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) guidance for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), most patients with coronary artery disease undergo angiography‐guided PCI alone in the real‐world setting.

Three‐Year Outcome of Drug Coated Balloon Angioplasty Following Atherectomy for Severely Calcified Coronary Lesions

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We aimed to compare the long‐term efficacy and safety of drug‐coated balloon (DCB) and drug‐eluting stent (DES) following atherectomy for coronary arteries with severely calcified lesions. Of the 258 consecutive patients and 422 de novo lesions treated with DCB at Kanazawa Medical University Hospital, we retrospectively enrolled highly ...

Optical Coherence Tomography Analysis of Attenuated Plaques Detected by Intravascular Ultrasound in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes

open access: yesCardiology Research and Practice, 2011
Background. Recent intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) studies have demonstrated that hypoechoic plaque with deep ultrasound attenuation despite absence of bright calcium is common in acute coronary syndrome.

Real‐World Outcome of Coronary Orbital Atherectomy in Diabetic Versus Non‐Diabetic Patients: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Clinical trial research on the safety and efficacy of coronary orbital atherectomy (OA) in diabetics compared to non‐diabetics is limited. This single‐center study aimed to perform a diabetic comparative analysis using real‐world data.

Case Report: The Role of Intravascular Ultrasonography in Patients Underwent Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

open access: yesFolia Medica Indonesiana, 2021
Intravascular ultrasonography (IVUS) has an important role as a complimentary diagnostic tool in percutaneous coronary intervention procedure. IVUS provides valuable information regarding coronary vessel lumen and dimension and also plaque burden and its

Successful Revascularization Using Intravascular Ultrasound‐Guided Wiring in Severe Digital Ischemia With Occluded Radial and Ulnar Arteries: A Case Report

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With recent advances in endovascular therapy (EVT), treatment of complex peripheral artery disease, especially below‐the‐knee lesions, has become increasingly feasible using intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)‐guided techniques. However, reports on EVT for critical digital ischemia remain scarce because of its rarity.
