Survival of Ixodes ricinus (Acari: Ixodidae) Under Challenging Conditions of Temperature and Humidity Is Influenced by Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato Infection [PDF]
To determine whether Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (s.l.) influences tick survival under thermohygrometric stress, Ixodes ricinus (L.) (Acari: Ixodidae) questing ticks were tested under various relative humidities (13, 32, 51.5, 61, and 89% RH) at two ...

Diversity Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato in natural foci of Novosibirsk region
PCR assays were used to test sample from Ixodes persulcatus, blood and tissues of small mammals, human blood after tick bi- tes, as well as isolates from adult ticks. It was demonstrated the presence of two Borrelia species: B. garinii and B.

[The lysozyme of Ixodes persulcatus ticks].
Using a technique based on specific enzyme sorption by chitin (beta-1-4-N-acetylglucosamine), lysozyme with a molecular mass of 15,000 has been isolated from homogenates of the Ix. persulcatus ticks. Micrococci and staphylococci proved to be most sensitive to lysozyme from the Ix. persulcatus ticks, while E. coli and Salmonella were less sensitive. The

Detection of bartonella DNA in ixodid ticks, mosquitoes and in patients blood in Novosibirsk region
Bartonella DNA was detected using nested PCR in ticks Ixodes persulcatus and Dermacentor reticulatus, in mosquitoes Aedes cantans, but not in other mosquito or gnat species.

Do the level of energy reserves, hydration status and Borrelia infection influence walking by Ixodes ricinus (Acari: Ixodidae) ticks? [PDF]
Ixodes ricinus horizontal movement within a humidity gradient and the influence of infection by Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (s.l.) on tick walking were investigated. Nymphs were placed within an arena containing a humidity gradient ranging from 45 to

Разработка системы молекулярного видотипирования клещей Ixodes persulcatus и Ixodes pavlovskyi
Determination of ticks species is very important for epidemiology and ecology investigations but in some cases the morphological study couldn't be carried out. In this work the PCR system based on species-specific primers to cytochrome oxidase subunit 1 (COI) gene sequence was developed for molecular species typing of Ixodes persulcatus and.
