Yezo Virus Infection in Tick-Bitten Patient and Ticks, Northeastern China
We identified Yezo virus infection in a febrile patient who had a tick bite in northeastern China, where 0.5% of Ixodes persulcatus ticks were positive for viral RNA.

Ixodes persulcatus, a major vector of Alphaproteobacteria in Russia
Ixodes persulcatus Schulze, 1930 (I. persulcatus) is distributed from the western to the eastern borders of Russia where it is found in the taiga and in mixed forests of the European type. This tick is a known vector of viral (tick-borne encephalitis virus), spirochetal (Borrelia spp.), and protozoan (Babesia spp.) agents. In this work, we analyzed the

Colorado tick fever virus (CTFV) is an emerging Coltivirus belonging to the Reoviridae family and Spinareoviridae subfamily which can cause severe disease in humans. Several strains of CTFV have been previously described in the literature, including S6‐14‐03 (CTFV‐Ca), and the coltivirus‐type species, CTFV‐Florio.

Distribution of Ticks and Prevalence of Tick‐Borne Pathogens in Multiple Regions of China
Ticks and tick‐borne pathogens pose significant threats to livestock and public health. While tick occurrences have been reported in China, systematic assessments of pathogen risk factors across diverse hosts and regions remain limited. This study investigated tick distribution, prevalence, and associated pathogen infections across seven sampling sites

Controlling populations of Ixodes ticks has emerged as a core strategy for reducing human exposure to tick‐borne infections. Several means of reducing the size of the tick population using chemical and biological acaricides show promise in field trials and are frequently used commercially in North America and Europe.

Microbial population analysis of the salivary glands of ticks; a possible strategy for the surveillance of bacterial pathogens. [PDF]
Ticks are one of the most important blood-sucking vectors for infectious microorganisms in humans and animals. When feeding they inject saliva, containing microbes, into the host to facilitate the uptake of blood.
