Microbiological Evidence of Etiology «Ixodes Tick-Borne Borreliosis without Erythema Migrans» - Infection Caused by Borrelia miyamotoi

open access: yesЭпидемиология и вакцинопрофилактика, 2017
Background. The spirochete Borrelia miyamotoi belongs to the group of borrelia causing tick-borne relapsing fevers. It is transmitted by the same tick species as Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato and is widespread in temperate climate zones of Eurasia and ...

Neurological manifestations of ixodic tick-borne borreliosis associated with chronic opisthorchiasis in the Tomsk Region

open access: yesBulletin of Siberian Medicine, 2010
A comparative analysis of neurological manifestations in patients with acute ixodic tick-borne borreliosis (ITB) and patients with ITB associated with chronic opisthorchiasis has been carried out. It has been found that at ITB in the acute phase, nearly all parts of the nervous system are involved in the pathological process.

The Release of Non‐Native Gamebirds Is Associated With Amplified Zoonotic Disease Risk

open access: yesEcology Letters, Volume 28, Issue 4, April 2025.
Spillback is potentially an important mechanism by which non‐natives contribute to zoonotic disease emergence. We capitalise on quasi‐experimental releases of non‐native pheasants (Phasianus colchicus) to compare native pathogen prevalence between sites with similar local conditions but different non‐native densities. Prevalence of Borrelia sp.

Modern look at pathogenetic mechanisms of joint disease in patients with ixodic tick-borne borreliosis

open access: yesBulletin of Siberian Medicine, 2009
The modern look at pathogenetic mechanisms of joint disease in patients with exodic tick-borne borreliosis is presented. The problems of etiology, pathogenesis, classifications, and morphological peculiarities of Lyme-arthritis and mechanisms of development of immune inflammation are considered.

Zoonotic Tick‐Borne Pathogens in Ixodes ricinus Complex (Acari: Ixodidae) From Urban and Peri‐Urban Areas of Kosovo

open access: yesZoonoses and Public Health, Volume 72, Issue 2, Page 174-183, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Ixodes ricinus, the castor bean tick, is the most prevalent tick species in Europe. It favours habitats such as shrubs, deciduous and mixed forests, but can also be found in urban environments. Due to its high vector competence, it is of enormous veterinary as well as medical importance, transmitting tick‐borne encephalitis (TBE ...

Limited evidence of infection with other tick-borne pathogens in patients tested for Lyme neuroborreliosis in the Netherlands

open access: yesTicks and Tick-Borne Diseases
Ixodes ricinus is the main vector of the causative agents of Lyme neuroborreliosis. This tick species can also transmit tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV), spotted fever group (SFG) Rickettsia and Borrelia miyamotoi to humans.

[Epidemiological characterization of Ixodes tick-borne borreliosis in the Krasnoyarsk territory].

open access: yesZhurnal mikrobiologii, epidemiologii i immunobiologii, 2005
The analysis of morbidity in tick-borne infections for many years indicates that in the 1960s-1990s in the total structure of the clinical forms of tick-borne encephalitis the erythematic form amounted to 1.4-20.9, which 1.9- to 3.1-fold exceeded the morbidity characteristics for the whole of Russia.
