Theoretical and applied fracture mechanics (Print), 2018
Digital image correlation (DIC) is a unique technique for determining displacements because in a single experiment one can get ux and uy displacements if it is 2D DIC and all the three components if one uses 3D DIC.

Abstract Tests performed within the framework of earlier RWTUV projects together with results obtained elsewhere with regard to the time dependence of fracture mechanics data show that time effects reduced the toughness of materials, according to the nature of the test (extremely slow load rate or hold times with sustained load).

Modelling hydraulic fracturing with the J-integral
2021<p>Hydraulic fracturing plays a central role in engineering fractured reservoirs. To simulate the propagation of &#8220;dry&#8221; fractures, the J-integral has been a standard technique. Its superior accuracy at coarser resolutions make it particularly attractive, especially for reservoir-scale simulations.

J integral for delaminated composite laminates
Composites Science and Technology, 1993Abstract An integral, J, is derived for edge-delaminated composite laminates subjected to pure bending and/or uniform axial extension. This J integral for a quasi-three-dimensional edge-delamination problem subjected to uniform extension has the same form as Rice's J integral for a two-dimensional crack problem.

J-Integral Estimation Procedures
Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology, 1983This paper presents efficient procedures for estimating the J-integral, a parameter for characterizing stable crack growth under inelastic conditions. Two different formulations are shown. The basis of the first approximate J-integral formula is the familiar extension of the elastic strain energy release rate computation for elastic-plastic loads. Experimental measurement of the J-integral
Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 1984Abstract A direct measurement of the J-integral in plane stress state is carried out by utilizing the definition of J as a line integral; the integration function is assessed along a suitable path in rectangular-shaped cracked panels by means of strain gauges.

On the J-integral in periodically layered composites
International Journal of Fracture, 1996When a heterogeneous elastic material is represented by an effective homogeneous elastic solid, average stress and strain fields are used. The meaning of the J-integral in the effective homogeneous solid is investigated. A periodically layered medium is considered.
