From dual to unified employment protection: Transition and steady state

open access: yesQuantitative Economics, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 547-585, May 2021., 2021
Three features of real‐life reforms of dual employment protection legislation (EPL) systems are particularly hard to study through the lens of standard labor‐market search models: (i) the excess job turnover implied by dual EPL, (ii) the nonretroactive nature of EPL reforms, and (iii) the transition dynamics from dual to a unified EPL system.

Enhancing parental reflective functioning through early dyadic interventions: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesInfant Mental Health Journal: Infancy and Early Childhood, Volume 42, Issue 1, Page 21-34, January/February 2021., 2021
ABSTRACT Parental reflective functioning (PRF) is an important predictor of infant attachment, and interventions that target parent–infant/toddler dyads who are experiencing significant problems have the potential to improve PRF. A range of dyadic interventions have been developed over the past two decades, some of which explicitly target PRF as part ...

Bounds on treatment effects in regression discontinuity designs with a manipulated running variable

open access: yesQuantitative Economics, Volume 11, Issue 3, Page 839-870, July 2020., 2020
The key assumption in regression discontinuity analysis is that the distribution of potential outcomes varies smoothly with the running variable around the cutoff. In many empirical contexts, however, this assumption is not credible; and the running variable is said to be manipulated in this case.

Eligibility, experience rating, and unemployment insurance take‐up

open access: yesQuantitative Economics, Volume 11, Issue 3, Page 1059-1107, July 2020., 2020
In this paper, we investigate the causes and consequences of “unclaimed” unemployment insurance (UI) benefits. A search model is developed where the costs to collecting UI benefits include both a traditional “fixed” administrative cost and an endogenous cost arising from worker and firm interactions.

Frailty in the prediction of delirium in the intensive care unit: A secondary analysis of the Deli study

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 68, Issue 2, Page 214-225, February 2024.
Abstract Background Delirium is an acute disorder of attention and cognition with an incidence of up to 70% in the adult intensive care setting. Due to the association with significantly increased morbidity and mortality, it is important to identify who is at the greatest risk of an acute episode of delirium while being cared for in the intensive care.
