Sensitivity of a Hymenoptera serological immunoglobulin (Ig)E assay for the diagnosis of venom hypersensitivity in dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 34, Issue 6, Page 543-553, December 2023., 2023
Background – Hymenoptera envenomation with honey bee (Apis mellifera) and paper wasp (Polistes spp.) may cause life‐threatening anaphylaxis in dogs. In human patients, clinical history, intradermal testing (IDT) and measurement of allergen‐specific serological immunoglobulin (Ig)E (sIgE) are used to support a diagnosis of Hymenoptera venom ...

Surface Deposition Induced Reduction of the Ground State Spin in Cr10 Wheel

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 10, Issue 20, July 17, 2023., 2023
The magneto‐structural properties of monolayers and multilayers of {Cr10(OMe)20(O2CCMe3)10} wheels sublimated onto Au(111) and Cu(111) substrates are reported. A reduction of the cluster total spin ground‐state from S = 9 in the bulk to S = 3 or S = 6 in the monolayers is observed, associated to variations in the intra‐wheel exchange coupling ...

Prenatal expectations and other psycho‐social factors as risk factors of postnatal bonding disturbance

open access: yesInfant Mental Health Journal: Infancy and Early Childhood, Volume 42, Issue 5, Page 655-671, September/October 2021., 2021
Abstract The mother's bond to her baby starts to develop during pregnancy, and it is related to the baby's attachment. We study how the mother's prenatal expectations of her unborn baby, the mother's adult relationships, and postnatal psycho‐social factors (stress, depression, and anxiety) are related to the risk of bonding disturbance.

Free-Living Ice-Nucleating Active Bacteria from High Mountain Lake Habitats

open access: yesMicrobiology Indonesia, 2010
We collected the culturable heterotrophic bacteria from oligotrophic high mountain lake habitats and tested their capability to induce ice formation. Direct plating was carried out using low-nutrient medium at a temperature of between 3 and 4°C.

A novel approach for feline sporotrichosis pathogen detection based on loop‐mediated isothermal amplification

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 474-484, August 2025.
Background – Sporotrichosis is a chronic, mycotic infection caused by fungi of the genus Sporothrix. Zoonotic sporotrichosis occurs mainly through S. brasiliensis transmission, resulting from the organism's traumatic introduction via scratches or bites, or contact with exudate from contaminated cats.
