Selective Electrolysis of Water Under Artificial Seawater Conditions Using Transition Metal Borate Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The borate‐based cobalt‐iron catalyst promotes selective oxidation of water rather than chlorine evolution reaction during electrolysis of seawater. When integrated into a zero‐gap electrolyzer prototype, this catalyst supports robust splitting of artificial seawater into oxygen and hydrogen on an extended timescale.

Behavior of partially defected R.C columns strengthened using steel jackets

open access: yesHBRC Journal, 2015
The aim of this work is to study the effect of partial strengthening of partially defected columns on its capacity, and global behavior. There are two types of defects on R.C columns, the first is decreasing the characteristic compressive strength of a ...

Toward Standardization in CO2 Electrolysis: A Round Robin Study

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
CO2 electrolysis is a promising green technology for producing fuels and chemicals. To support its real‐world adoption, researchers conducted a collaborative study to identify sources of experimental variability. They found key differences in temperature and pressure control across labs and proposed a standardized testing protocol to improve ...

Streamlined V3.5+ Electrolyte Production by Leveraging Chemical and Catalytic Reductions

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A tuned catalytic process for V3.5+ electrolyte production is shown to streamline the conventional chemical‐to‐catalytic sequence by extending catalysis into the rate‐determining reduction regime. This study shows that initiating catalysis in this regime shortens the overall production time by 67% based on rigorous thermodynamic and kinetic analysis of

Introducing heterarchy : a relational-contextual framework within the study of International Relations : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Politics at Massey University, Manawatu, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This thesis posits that for too long International Relations (IR) has been overly rigid and insular, discouraging cross-disciplinary cooperation within the social sciences and becoming increasingly irrelevant to policy-makers. IR academia tend to stick

Model‐based fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control in safety‐critical chemical reactors: An experimental study

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates a fault‐tolerant control (FTC) approach for continuous stirred‐tank reactors (CSTR), emphasizing the importance of timely interventions to ensure operational safety under fault conditions. A systematic methodology combining residual‐based fault estimation and Dynamic Safety Margin (DSM) monitoring is developed to guide ...
