The consistency of bootstrap and jackknife variance estimators for finite population L-statistics

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2012
For the linear combinations of order statistics (L-statistics), we present conditions sufficient for the consistency of their finite-population bootstrap variance estimator and the classical jackknife variance estimator.

The Effect of Sideslip on Jackknife Limits during Low Speed Trailer Operation

open access: yesRobotics, 2022
Jackknifing refers to the serious situation where a vehicle-trailer system enters a jackknife state and the vehicle and trailer eventually collide if trailer operation is not corrected.

Large‐Scale Genomics Reveals Three‐Source Ancestry and Layered Adaptation to High Altitude in Tibetan Chickens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...

Application of Maximum Entropy in Prediction of Common Yew (Taxus baccata L.) potential habitats in the Arasbaran biosphere reserve [PDF]

open access: yesمجله جنگل ایران, 2020
Common yew (Taxus baccata L.) is classified as an Endangered (En) species and its distribution has been decreased as a long-lived species during last decades, indicating the need for protecting its habitats.

Faster and Durable: A Cell‐to‐System Validation of a Low‐Degradation Fast‐Charge Protocol for Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A physics‐based framework resolving graphite phase‐separation dynamics establishes a predictive, degradation‐aware fast‐charging methodology for commercial Li‐ion batteries. The resulting model‐informed protocol achieves 20%–80% state‐of‐charge in 14 min while matching the long‐term degradation of a commercial 25‐minute EV strategy.

Extralevator Abdominoperineal Excision Improves Overall Survival Compared to Standard Abdominoperineal Excision: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This systematic review and meta‐analysis of 38 studies, encompassing over 5000 patients, compared extralevator abdominoperineal excision (ELAPE) with standard abdominoperineal excision (APE) in patients with advanced low rectal cancer. ELAPE was associated with significantly improved overall and disease‐free survival, reduced intraoperative perforation

T Cell Plasticity in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Revealed by Large‐Scale T Cell Receptor Repertoire and Transcriptome Studies

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to characterize CD4+ T cell plasticity in human systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) by leveraging T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire features as markers of prior lineage states, integrating TCR and transcriptomic profiling to delineate plasticity patterns and evaluate their association with clinical disease activity. Methods We used TCR

Jackknife Estimator of Species Richness with S-PLUS

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2005
An estimate of the number of species, S , usually called species richness by ecologists, in an area is one of the basic statistics used to ascertain biological diversity. Traditionally ecologists have used the number of species observed in a sample, S0 ,

Predicting Potential Distribution of the Acanthopanax Sessiliflorus in China Under Future Climate Scenarios Based the Optimized Maximum Entropy (MaxEnt) Model. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
In this study, we employed an optimized MaxEnt model combined with environmental variables to predict the potential habitat suitability for Acanthopanax sessiliflorus under various future climate projections. Our findings indicate that climate change will likely alter the geographic distribution of this species, with potential shifts in suitable ...
