The local paleoenvironment of Kalavan‐2 based on small‐vertebrate remains and its implications for human‐environment‐dynamics between 60 and 35 ka in the Armenian Highlands

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, Volume 41, Issue 1, Page 153-177, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Kalavan‐2, a high‐altitude (∼1640 m a.s.l.) open‐air site in Armenia, preserves stratified Middle Paleolithic occupations with a rich small‐vertebrate record. Luminescence dating has placed site formation between ~60 and 45 ka, but without independent chronological control of the microvertebrate accumulation.

Surface Wave Solutions in 1D and 2D for the Broer–Kaup–Boussinesq–Kupershmidt System

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, Volume 156, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The Broer–Kaup–Boussinesq–Kupershmidt (BKBK) system is a singular perturbation of the classical shallow water equations which modifies their transport velocity to depend on wave elevation slope. This modification introduces backward diffusion terms proportional to a real parameter κ$\kappa$.

Bright and Dark Breathers on an Elliptic Wave in the Defocusing mKdV Equation

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, Volume 156, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Breathers on an elliptic wave background consist of nonlinear superpositions of a soliton and a periodic wave, both traveling with different wave speeds and interacting periodically in the space‐time. For the defocusing modified Korteweg–de Vries equation, the construction of general breathers has been an open problem since the elliptic wave ...

Approximation of eigenvalues of some unbounded self-adjoint discrete Jacobi matrices by eigenvalues of finite submatrices [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2007
We investigate the problem of approximation of eigenvalues of some self-adjoint operator in the Hilbert space \(l^2(\mathbb{N})\) by eigenvalues of suitably chosen principal finite submatrices of an infinite Jacobi matrix that defines the operator ...

A spectral equivalence for Jacobi matrices

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 2007
We use the classical results of Baxter and Gollinski-Ibragimov to prove a new spectral equivalence for Jacobi matrices on $l^2(\N)$. In particular, we consider the class of Jacobi matrices with conditionally summable parameter sequences and find necessary and sufficient conditions on the spectral measure such that $\sum_{k=n}^\infty b_k$ and $\sum_{k=n}

Relative oscillation theory for Jacobi matrices extended [PDF]

open access: yesOperators and Matrices, 2014
We present a comprehensive treatment of relative oscillation theory for finite Jacobi matrices. We show that the difference of the number of eigenvalues of two Jacobi matrices in an interval equals the number of weighted sign-changes of the Wronskian of suitable solutions of the two underlying difference equations.

Zeros of multiple orthogonal polynomials: location and interlacing

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract We prove a criterion for the possible locations of zeros of type I and type II multiple orthogonal polynomials in terms of normality of degree 1 Christoffel transforms. We provide another criterion in terms of degree 2 Christoffel transforms for establishing zero interlacing of the neighboring multiple orthogonal polynomials of type I and type

Theta divisors and permutohedra

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract We establish an intriguing relation of the smooth theta divisor Θn$\Theta ^n$ with permutohedron Πn$\Pi ^n$ and the corresponding toric variety XΠn$X_\Pi ^n$. In particular, we show that the generalised Todd genus of the theta divisor Θn$\Theta ^n$ coincides with h$h$‐polynomial of permutohedron Πn$\Pi ^n$ and thus is different from the same ...

A Jacobi Generalized Orthogonal Joint Diagonalization Algorithm for Joint Blind Source Separation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Joint blind source separation (J-BSS) has emerged as a data-driven technique for multi-set data fusion applications. In this paper, we propose a Jacobi generalized orthogonal joint diagonalization (GOJD) algorithm for J-BSS of multiset signals.
