The local paleoenvironment of Kalavan‐2 based on small‐vertebrate remains and its implications for human‐environment‐dynamics between 60 and 35 ka in the Armenian Highlands

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, Volume 41, Issue 1, Page 153-177, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Kalavan‐2, a high‐altitude (∼1640 m a.s.l.) open‐air site in Armenia, preserves stratified Middle Paleolithic occupations with a rich small‐vertebrate record. Luminescence dating has placed site formation between ~60 and 45 ka, but without independent chronological control of the microvertebrate accumulation.

A Survey of Atmospheric Gravity Waves Observed by GOLD During Quiet to Moderate Solar and Geomagnetic Activity

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Atmospheric gravity waves (GWs) are believed to transport energy and momentum between different regions of the atmosphere. Historically, observations of these waves from both ground and space have been relatively abundant at altitudes up to the lower thermosphere, and somewhat less abundant in the upper thermosphere and F‐region ionosphere ...

Sediment Resuspension Under Wind‐Driven Currents and Waves: 1D Numerical Simulations Guided by Direct Observations Along the Dead Sea Shore

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Resuspension of fine‐grained bottom sediment under wind‐driven currents and waves is a key process in shaping nearshore environments. Commonly, resuspension is quantified for predicting the dispersion of contaminants and nutrients affecting water quality by numerical modeling and field measurements. Although a large body of research deals with

Modular reactor for in situ X‐ray scattering, spectroscopy and ATR‐IR studies of solvothermal nanoparticle synthesis

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 1, Page 142-153, January 2026.
A reactor is described, whose modular design enables in situ X‐ray scattering and spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, gas and liquid injection under autoclave‐like conditions and magnetic stirring for solvothermal synthesis up to 200°C and 8 bar.Understanding the chemical processes that occur during the solvothermal synthesis of functional ...

Unified Asymptotics for Investment Under Illiquidity: Transaction Costs and Search Frictions

open access: yesMathematical Finance, Volume 36, Issue 1, Page 67-98, January 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates the optimal investment problem in a market with two types of illiquidity: transaction costs and search frictions. We analyze a power‐utility maximization problem where an investor encounters proportional transaction costs and trades only when a Poisson process triggers trading opportunities.

Phenolic compounds in species of the Blechnaceae

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 1, Page 282-291, January 2026.
The occurrence of caffeic acid derivatives in 32 species of Blechnaceae revealed differences in the presence of rosmarinic acid and blechnic acid B, a novel compound in ferns. Abstract Rosmarinic acid and other caffeic and 4‐coumaric acid derivatives are widespread in land plants.
