Operational Methods in the Study of Sobolev-Jacobi Polynomials [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
Inspired by ideas from umbral calculus and based on the two types of integrals occurring in the defining equations for the gamma and the reciprocal gamma functions, respectively, we develop a multi-variate version of umbral calculus and of the so-called umbral image technique.

Photo‐controlled Release of Urea Enables the Detection of Urea‐Urease Intermediates by cryo‐FTIR

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Caged compounds are a valuable tool to photocontrol the release of enzymatic substrates in a reaction. For example, caged urea molecules were proposed to control urea delivery to urease reactions and aid the determination of the catalytic mechanism of this enzyme.

A New Extended Jacobi Elliptic Function Expansion Method and Its Application to the Generalized Shallow Water Wave Equation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
With the aid of symbolic computation, a new extended Jacobi elliptic function expansion method is presented by means of a new ansatz, in which periodic solutions of nonlinear evolution equations, which can be expressed as a finite Laurent series of some ...

Scheduled Relaxation Jacobi method: Improvements and applications [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Computational Physics, 2016
Elliptic partial differential equations (ePDEs) appear in a wide variety of areas of mathematics, physics and engineering. Typically, ePDEs must be solved numerically, which sets an ever growing demand for efficient and highly parallel algorithms to tackle their computational solution.

Compressibility Function and Speed of Sound in the Non‐Commutative Quantum Hadrodynamics Type‐I Model for Neutron Stars

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigate the effects of a minimal measurable length on neutron stars, within the quantum hadrodynamics (QHD‐I) model modified by the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP). Working in a deformed Poisson algebra framework, we incorporate GUP effects via a time‐invariant transformation of the phase space volume, effectively reducing the ...

Performance Comparison of GPU-Based Jacobi Solvers Using CUDA Provided Synchronization Methods

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this manuscript, variants of Jacobi solver implementation on general purpose graphical processing units (GPGPU) have been purposed and compared. During this work, parallel implementation of finite element method (FEM) using Poisson's equation on ...

Free energy expansions of a conditional GinUE and large deviations of the smallest eigenvalue of the LUE

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract We consider a planar Coulomb gas ensemble of size N$N$ with the inverse temperature β=2$\beta =2$ and external potential Q(z)=|z|2−2clog|z−a|$Q(z)=|z|^2-2c \log |z-a|$, where c>0$c>0$ and a∈C$a \in \mathbb {C}$. Equivalently, this model can be realised as N$N$ eigenvalues of the complex Ginibre matrix of size (c+1)N×(c+1)N$(c+1) N \times (c+1)

A Flexible Polynomial Expansion Method for Response Analysis with Random Parameters

open access: yesComplexity, 2018
The generalized Polynomial Chaos Expansion Method (gPCEM), which is a random uncertainty analysis method by employing the orthogonal polynomial bases from the Askey scheme to represent the random space, has been widely used in engineering applications ...

Fluorescent and Chemiluminescent Dyes with Aryl Phthalimide and Aryl Luminol Chromophores

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, EarlyView.
A series of photo‐active phthalimides and luminols is prepared by an arylation method from a key precursor. Significant stereoelectronic correlation of the aromatic substituents with the photophysical properties is documented. A new arylated luminol derivative shows a more than three times higher ΦCL than the parent luminol.
