We propose a novel deep learning algorithm for predicting the myelin water fraction from multiple gradient‐echo or spin‐echo pulse sequences arising in magnetic resonance relaxometry (MRR) measurements of the human brain. Our method incorporates both regularized nonlinear least squares and pure deep learning through a concatenation paradigm known as ...

Nonlinear Model Order Reduction on Polynomial Manifolds for Computational Homogenisation Problems
ABSTRACT Model order reduction (MOR) techniques utilising nonlinear approximation spaces can search for solutions to computational homogenisation problems on low‐dimensional approximation spaces. In combination with hyperreduction techniques, this allows for computations on representative volume elements (RVEs) to be accelerated by multiple orders of ...

On Challenges Using Long Short‐Term Memory Networks in Data‐Driven Inelasticity
ABSTRACT We present a framework that integrates long short‐term memory (LSTM) networks into a two‐dimensional data‐driven mechanics solver. We show that the staggered, double‐minimization algorithm induces solver‐generated noise, and that an LSTM trained on noise‐free stress–strain paths fails to account for these solver artifacts.

Simultaneous Inversion for Underactuated Mechanical Systems with Servo‐Constraints
ABSTRACT The dynamic inversion of underactuated mechanical systems can be formulated in the servo‐constraint framework using a set of differential‐algebraic equations (DAEs). In case of a high differentiation index, the inversion‐based feedforward control design poses significant challenges.
