Muscle fibroblasts and stem cells stimulate motor neurons in an age and exercise‐dependent manner

Muscle biopsies were taken from males and females differing in age and exercise habits. Mononucleated cells were isolated and purified into muscle stem cells (MuSC) and muscle fibroblasts (FIB). Neurons were isolated from E14 rat embryos and motor neurons were enriched by density gradient centrifugation.
