Review of Thin Lithium Metal Battery Anode Fabrication – Microstructure – Electrochemistry Relations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thin, lightweight lithium‐metal anodes are pivotal for practical high‐energy batteries. This review surveys processing routes that convert diverse Li precursors, e.g., ingots, melts, solutions, and vapor, into Li‐rich foils with controlled thickness, areal density, and tailored functionality.

Flagellar dynamics of chains of active Janus particles fueled by an AC electric field

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
We study the active dynamics of self-propelled asymmetrical colloidal particles (Janus particles) fueled by an AC electric field. Both the speed and direction of the self-propulsion, and the strength of the attractive interaction between particles can be

Active colloids at fluid interfaces

open access: yes, 2016
If an active Janus particle is trapped at the interface between a liquid and a fluid, its self-propelled motion along the interface is affected by a net torque on the particle due to the viscosity contrast between the two adjacent fluid phases.

A cluster theory for a Janus fluid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Recent Monte Carlo simulations on the Kern and Frenkel model of a Janus fluid have revealed that in the vapour phase there is the formation of preferred clusters made up of a well-defined number of particles: the micelles and the vesicles.

Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

Mitochondria‐Targeted Nanomotor: H2S‐Driven Cascade Therapy for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A mitochondrial‐targeted nanomotor integrates photodynamic therapy, mild photothermal therapy, and enzyme dynamic therapy into a self‐amplifying cascade through H2S‐driven metabolic reprogramming. Abstract Despite advances in combination therapies for cancer treatment, most strategies rely on modular‐additive designs that lack dynamic molecular cues to

Optically Active Janus Particles Constructed by Chiral Helical Polymers through Emulsion Polymerization Combined with Solvent Evaporation-Induced Phase Separation.

open access: yesACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2020
Polymer Janus particles (PJPs) have been extensively investigated due to their intriguing features which cannot be achieved in traditional counterparts. Chiral polymer particles also have constituted a unique research area in polymer science.

MXene Membrane as Multifunctional Interface for Vapor Splitting via Photothermal‐Catalytic Membrane Distillation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional MXene‐based membrane integrates photothermal evaporation and photocatalytic vapor splitting in a sweeping‐gas membrane distillation (PTC‐SGMD) platform, simultaneously generating freshwater and hydrogen. The SrTiO3/MX@PVDF interface leverages broad‐spectrum solar absorption, efficient heat/mass transfer, and gas–solid catalysis to ...
