Rotational motion of dimers of Janus particles [PDF]
We theoretically study the motion of a rigid dimer of self-propelling Janus particles. In a simple kinetic approach without hydrodynamic interactions, the dimer moves on a helical trajectory and, at the same time, it rotates about its center of mass.

How Half-Coated Janus Particles Enter Cells
Janus particles possess functional asymmetry and directionality within a single entity and thus are predicted to enable many promising biomedical applications that are not offered by homogeneous particles.

Topologically protected optical pulling force on synthetic particles through photonic nanojet
A dielectric microsphere concentrates light into a photonic nanojet (PNJ), and swims towards the near-infrared laser in response to the nanojet-mediated force.

Janus-like Pickering emulsions and their controllable coalescence
Janus-like emulsions stabilized by OH- and polydopamine (PDA) particles were realized. The OH- and particle occupied areas on emulsion droplet surfaces are spatially separated.

Scalable Synthesis of Janus Particles with High Naturality [PDF]
Because of the increasing concerns about the ecological damage and negative health effects that may be caused by petrochemical-based microbeads, many countries are banning their use in a wide range of consumer products.

Janus particles: from synthesis to application
Janus particles have built momentum in the last years owing to their unique structure and properties. In this review, we present an overview of the advances in the field of non-centrosymmetric Janus particles and discuss in detail the synthesis, self ...

Functional Janus Particles Modified with Ionic Liquids for Dye Degradation
Snowman-like silica@PDVB/PS Janus particles were fabricated via seeded emulsion polymerization and modified with hydrophilic ionic liquid moieties. The Janus particles can readily be further modified by incorporating new functionalities through simple ...
