Sequence of Immunological Events During IgE‐Mediated Allergic Reactions to Food
ABSTRACT Food allergies (FA) represent a significant global health burden. Upon allergen re‐exposure, allergic patients exhibit a sequence of symptoms that vary in terms of affected organ systems, severity, time of onset and allergen reactivity thresholds.

Germination Inhibitor from the Japanese Cedar Cryptomeria japonica
(1S,6R)-2,7(14),10-Bisabolatrien-1-ol-4-one was identified as a germination inhibitor from the methanol extract of Japanese cedar wood, Cryptomeria japonica. The occurrence of this compound in 1 g fresh wood was 2.0 mg, and showed a maximum of 60% germination inhibition at the dose of 20 mg/filter paper (157 μg/cm2) against both of lettuce and rice ...

Single‐allergen dust mite subcutaneous immunotherapy achieved 68.8% perennial symptom response rate in polysensitised allergic rhinitis patients. High mould and dust mite sIgE levels predicted poor allergen immunotherapy response, which indicated allergen‐specific sIgE levels may help guide personalised allergen immunotherapy decisions.

Developing a simple soil erosion model including spatial variability in headwater catchments
Abstract Hillslopes and stream channels are tightly linked in headwater catchments, where soil erosion on slopes is transported to channels depending on topography, soil properties, and ground cover conditions. Because these environments are highly spatially variable, geographic information system (GIS)‐based modeling approaches are effective for ...
