Jar Tests Fine‐Tune Your Plant's Performance

Opflow, 1987
Jar tests are used to show the effectiveness of chemical treatment in a water treatment facility. They are also useful for evaluating new coagulants or polymers for use on a plant scale. This article presents jar test procedures for water treatment plant operators.

An Evaluation of the Jar Test for BaSO4 and SrSO4 Scale Inhibitors

CORROSION 1992, 1992
Abstract This paper describes the range of variables encountered in nominally similar jar test methods for inhibitors of BaSO4 and SrSO4, the results of investigations into their effects on the repeatability and reproducibility of the tests, and the extent to which they may have an effect on the ranking of inhibitor performance.

Measurement of Turbulent Flow in Standard Jar Test Apparatus

Journal of Environmental Engineering, 1995
Although the jar test has long been used in coagulation and flocculation, there is little available information on vessel hydrodynamics. Vessel-average parameters such as the root-mean-square velocity gradient, \iG¯, have traditionally been used for hydraulic simultude between the jar test and the full scale.

Simulation of Real System Settling in Jar Testing

2017
This chapter demonstrates the design of ‘jar testing procedure’ in compatibility with real system operation. This has also been shown how to set the real system in operation with a designed jar testing.
