A Java Applet

1999
The models described in this book are useless if they are not implemented in a computer. In this appendix we present a Java Applet that allows working with functional networks. Some of the models described in Chapter 4 have been implemented in the familiar computer Java language, to allow the readers to work with functional equations, no matter the ...

Rule-based filtering for Java applets

Proceedings 14th Annual Computer Security Applications Conference (Cat. No.98EX217), 2002
Java has been designed with a sophisticated security model that prevents applets downloaded from an untrusted network to attack the local system. However, malicious applets could exploit bugs in the virtual machine in order to gain access to system resources to perform unauthorized operations.

An educational java applet for linear systems

Proceedings of the 2005, American Control Conference, 2005., 2005
We describe an educational Web applet for students studying linear systems and feedback control. The applet allows students to manipulate a pole-zero diagram and immediately see the corresponding changes that occur in the Bode plot, Nyquist diagram, Nichols chart, and step response.

An infrastructure for network computing with Java applets

Concurrency: Practice and Experience, 1998
Java, in combination with Web browsers' abilities to load and execute untrusted Java applets in a secure fashion, has made computing over the Web a possibility. Now the challenge is to fully utilize this potential, given the limitations imposed by browsers.

Lebendige Java-Applets

1997

An animated demonstration authoring system for Java applets

Proceedings 1999 IEEE Symposium on Visual Languages, 1999
Recently, many companies often provide some trial versions of their systems to the web users. The main purpose for this is to present the usability of their systems. There are two advantages in presenting the system as an applet. One is reducing user's trouble, because an applet can be downloaded automatically and the user does not have to install the ...

More Services: Java Applet

2004
Enough google for now. In this chapter, we introduce two new Web Services: the weather report service from http://live.capescience.com/ccx/GlobalWeather and the Amazon Web Services from http://www.amazon.com. Initially, we approach them using the xmlhttp framework from Chapter 1. However, within that framework, we generalize doGoogle() as doSoapCall().
