Wake Measurements of a Dechirper Jaw with Non-Zero Tilt Angle [PDF]
The RadiaBeam/SLAC dechirper at the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) is being used as a fast kicker, by inducing transverse wakefields, to e.g. facilitate Fresh-slice, two-color laser operation. The dechirper jaws are independently adjustable at both ends, and it is difficult to avoid leaving residual (longitudinal) tilt in them during set-up.

IPC-GraspSim: Reducing the Sim2Real Gap for Parallel-Jaw Grasping with the Incremental Potential Contact Model [PDF]
Accurately simulating whether an object will be lifted securely or dropped during grasping is a longstanding Sim2Real challenge. Soft compliant jaw tips are almost universally used with parallel-jaw robot grippers due to their ability to increase contact area and friction between the jaws and the object to be manipulated.

ABSTRACT Objectives To compare autogenous bone (AB) harvested from the mandibular ramus or a mixture of bovine bone mineral (BBM) with 25% locally harvested autogenous bone chips from the maxilla for maxillary sinus floor augmentation (MSFA). Material and Methods Patients requiring bilateral MSFA and implant placement were enrolled in this study ...

Building Anatomically Realistic Jaw Kinematics Model from Data [PDF]
This paper considers a different aspect of anatomical face modeling: kinematic modeling of the jaw, i.e., the Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ). Previous work often relies on simple models of jaw kinematics, even though the actual physiological behavior of the TMJ is quite complex, allowing not only for mouth opening, but also for some amount of sideways (

The Foundation for Developing an Exoskeleton for the Rehabilitation of Temporomandibular Disorders [PDF]
Temporomandibular disorders affect a significant portion of the population, often causing pain and restricted jaw movement. Physiotherapy with active jaw exoskeletons seems to be a promising treatment approach. However, there has been limited progress in this area, with only a few studies published.

ABSTRACT Aim To compare the dimensional outcomes of horizontal augmentation with the retentive‐flap technique using particulate and cross‐linked collagenated bone substitutes. Materials and Methods This two‐centre, two‐arm randomized clinical trial investigated 69 subjects: 34 in the particulate group and 35 in the collagenated group.

Tongue pressure recordings during speech using complete denture [PDF]
This paper describes an original experimental procedure to measure mechanical interactions between tongue and teeth during speech production. Using edentulous people as subjects, pressure transducers are inserted in their complete denture duplicate. Physiology is respected during sound and pressure recording as with standard complete denture.
