Panoramic Radiography of Edentulous Jaws
Dentomaxillofacial Radiology, 1980178 totally or partially edentulous patients attending the clinics of the Faculty of Odontology, Karolinska institute, were examined by panoramic radiography. In the alveolar processes a total of 84 pathological findings were registered, 0.17 per edentulous mandible and 0.38 per edentulous maxilla.

A technique for deepening the buccal sulcus in the edentulous jaw
British Journal of Oral Surgery, 1965Summary A technique for deepening the buccal sulcus in the edentulous jaw is described. A special tray is made from an adjusted model. This tray simplifies the preparation of a stent mould of the desired shape and size and also provides an impression for the construction of a plumper prosthesis which incorporates a replica of the mould and fully ...

Vertical relationships of edentulous jaws during swallowing
Journal of Dentistry, 1976Abstract Twenty edentulous subjects were X-rayed while sipping water. Measurements were made to determine the constancy of the vertical jaw position during swallowing and to relate it to the clinical rest position. The findings indicate that swallowing may be a useful clinical technique in establishing vertical jaw relationships in the construction ...

Jaw morphology in edentulous individuals: a radiographic cephalometric study
Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, 1985SummaryThe jaw morphology in the mandible and maxilla was studied by cephalometric analysis in two groups of edentulous subjects and in two groups of individuals in possession of all teeth. The predominating facial type in these groups was the orthognathic type.

[Preliminary clinical study of microimplants in the restoration of edentulous jaws].
Zhonghua kou qiang yi xue za zhi = Zhonghua kouqiang yixue zazhi = Chinese journal of stomatology, 2006To investigate if magnetic- attached overdenture supported by microimplants of 2.5 mm in diameter was able to function properly.Fourteen microimplants were placed in 4 patients. Implants were exposed 3 months later and magnetic abutments were connected directly. X-ray was taken during the 3 year follow-up to examine marginal bone level.

Analysis of digitization methods for edentulous jaws
