Arabidopsis inositol polyphosphate kinase activities regulate COP9 deneddylation functions in phosphate homeostasis

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Plant phosphate (Pi) homeostasis relies on coordinated activities of the inositol polyphosphate kinases IPK1 and ITPK1, which balance localized InsP7 biosynthesis to control COP9 signalosome (CSN)‐dependent deneddylation of cullin 1 (CUL1). Perturbation of this equilibrium affects the stability of SPX4, a key negative regulator of phosphate starvation ...

Comprehensive Comparative Analysis of the JAZ Gene Family in Common Wheat (Triticum aestivum) and Its D-Subgenome Donor Aegilops tauschii

open access: yesPlants
JASMONATE-ZIM DOMAIN (JAZ) repressor proteins work as co-receptors in the jasmonic acid (JA) signalling pathway and are essential for plant development and environmental adaptation.

Oryza sativa COI homologues restore jasmonate signal transduction in Arabidopsis coi1-1 mutants. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
CORONATINE INSENSITIVE 1 (COI1) encodes an E3 ubiquitin ligase complex component that interacts with JAZ proteins and targets them for degradation in response to JA signaling.

Higher Spins and Stringy AdS5xS5 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this lecture I review recent work on higher spin holography. After a notational flash on the AdS/CFT correspondence, I will discuss HS symmetry enhancement and derive the spectrum of perturbative type IIB superstring excitations on AdS5 in this limit.

Conspecific cueing or cooperative feeding?—Foraging stable flies are visually attracted to conspecific flies

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
In two‐choice laboratory bioassays, food‐deprived and CO2‐stimulated stable flies were offered paired landing platforms that were baited or not (control) with conspecific flies. The presence of conspecifics prompted the attraction and landing of foraging stable flies.

The conformal current algebra on supergroups with applications to the spectrum and integrability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We compute the algebra of left and right currents for a principal chiral model with arbitrary Wess-Zumino term on supergroups with zero Killing form.

Climate change and crop resilience: harnessing metabolomics for predicting stress tolerance

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summarised methodology for metabolite biomarker discovery and genomic targets selection for those metabolites to predict high‐throughput phenotypic and agronomic traits of interest for direct uptake in breeding programmes. Summary Global warming is driving climate change to levels not experienced since the advent of agriculture, primarily due to ...

A Conformal Field Theory of Extrinsic Geometry of 2-d Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
In the description of the extrinsic geometry of the string world sheet regarded as a conformal immersion of a 2-d surface in $R^3$, it was previously shown that, restricting to surfaces with $h\surd{g}\ =\ 1$, where $h$ is the mean scalar curvature and ...

The BAHD Acyltransferase Gene Family: Evolutionary Dynamics, Biochemical Mechanisms, and Roles in Plant Stress Adaptation

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
BAHD acyltransferases drive metabolic diversification in plants by coupling conserved catalytic scaffolds with regulatory flexibility, enabling stress adaptation and ecological specialisation. ABSTRACT BAHD acyltransferases constitute one of the most versatile enzyme superfamilies in plants, catalysing the acylation of alcohols, amines, polyamines, and

Evidence from multivariate morphometric study of the quercus pubescens complex in southeast Italy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The name Quercus pubescens s.l. encompasses a complex of deciduous oak taxa with mainly southeastEuropean distribution and a large ecological niche. As the easternmost region of Italy, Apulia is rather isolated from a geographical and physiographical ...
