What works in internal alternative provision? A salutogenic analysis
Abstract Schools across England are setting up ‘internal alternative provision’ to meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of increasing numbers of pupils at risk of suspension, exclusion and absence. However, there is little guidance about what good practice looks like.

New estimates for generalized Shannon and Zipf-Mandelbrot entropies via convexity results
Shannon and Zipf-Mandelbrot entropies have several applications in various fields such as ecology, statistics, physics and information theory etc. The aim of this article is to utilize some results of Jensen’s inequality for convex functions and to ...

Another Converse of Jensen's Inequality [PDF]
We give the best possible global bounds for a form of discrete Jensen’s inequality.

The Impact of Acquisition Intensity on ESG Performance
ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of Acquisition Intensity on ESG performance using a panel of 1,736 US‐listed companies from 2002 to 2023. Employing a robust OLS framework, we assess both Value‐Based and Volume‐Based Acquisition Intensity against overall ESG scores and their environmental, social, and governance pillars, controlling for firm

New refinements of the discrete Jensen’s inequality generated by finite or infinite permutations
In this paper some new refinements of the discrete Jensen’s inequality are obtained in real vector spaces. The idea comes from some former refinements determined by cyclic permutations.

Choi-Davis-Jensen's inequality without convexity [PDF]
We give the Choi-Davis-Jensen type inequality without using convexity. Applying our main results, we also give new inequalities improving previous known results.

Exploring the Governance–Disclosure Nexus: Board Structures and ESG Disclosures in South Africa
ABSTRACT This study examines how governance structures such as board composition and board functions influence environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting among listed South African firms. This study examines 90 public listed companies on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange between 2012 and 2022.

Subuniformity of harmonic mean p$$ p $$‐values
Abstract We obtain several inequalities on the generalized means of dependent p$$ p $$‐values. In particular, the weighted harmonic mean of p$$ p $$‐values is strictly subuniform under several dependence assumptions of p$$ p $$‐values, including independence, negative upper orthant dependence, the class of extremal mixture copulas, and some Clayton ...

A Refinement of Jensen’s and Minkowski’s Inequalities via Superquadratic Functions
We provide in this note a different refinement of Jensen’s inequality obtained via superquadratic functions. A refinement of Minkowski’s and Hölder’s inequalities is also established as an application of our refined Jensen’s inequality.
