Some companion inequalities to Jensen's inequality [PDF]
The authors obtain some new companion inequalities to Jensen's inequality (discrete or integral). The main results are given in a very general and abstract setting, for convex functions defined on an open convex set of a normed linear space. The differentiable cases, as well as sharpness questions are also considered.

Abstract Recruiting and retaining school leaders is a challenge in many systems worldwide. Previous research has identified three distinct ways in which succession planning can be conceptualised and approached: a ‘pipeline’ approach seeks to match supply and demand for the posts that need filling; a ‘pool’ strategy involves proactively identifying and ...

What works in internal alternative provision? A salutogenic analysis
Abstract Schools across England are setting up ‘internal alternative provision’ to meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of increasing numbers of pupils at risk of suspension, exclusion and absence. However, there is little guidance about what good practice looks like.

New Estimations for Shannon and Zipf–Mandelbrot Entropies
The main purpose of this paper is to find new estimations for the Shannon and Zipf–Mandelbrot entropies. We apply some refinements of the Jensen inequality to obtain different bounds for these entropies.

The Impact of Acquisition Intensity on ESG Performance
ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of Acquisition Intensity on ESG performance using a panel of 1,736 US‐listed companies from 2002 to 2023. Employing a robust OLS framework, we assess both Value‐Based and Volume‐Based Acquisition Intensity against overall ESG scores and their environmental, social, and governance pillars, controlling for firm

Exploring the Governance–Disclosure Nexus: Board Structures and ESG Disclosures in South Africa
ABSTRACT This study examines how governance structures such as board composition and board functions influence environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting among listed South African firms. This study examines 90 public listed companies on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange between 2012 and 2022.

Stability Analysis of Integral Delay Systems with Multiple Delays
This note is concerned with stability analysis of integral delay systems with multiple delays. To study this problem, the well-known Jensen inequality is generalized to the case of multiple terms by introducing an individual slack weighting matrix for ...

An operator inequality related to Jensen’s inequality [PDF]
Summary: For bounded non-negative operators \(A\) and \(B\), Furuta showed \[ 0\leq A \leq B \text{ implies } A^{\frac{r}{2}}B^sA^{\frac{r}{2}} \leq (A^{\frac{r}{2}}B^tA^{\frac{r}{2}})^{\frac{s+r}{t+r}}\quad (0\leq r, 0\leq s \leq t).
