Jet rapidity distributions and jet-jet correlation functions
Physica Scripta, 2022Abstract Multi-particle production studies have always been an important tool in the effort to study the properties of the strong force already from the fifties of the previous century. As the center-of-mass energy of present day hadron colliders and in particular the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has increased enormously over the years

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2012
The understanding of jets and jet substructure has rapidly become a topic of high activity in both the theoretical and experimental communities. Many new physics models involve highly boosted hadronically-decaying particles, which result in jet-like objects with large intrinsic masses and well-separated constituents.

The effect of jet shape on jet injection
2015 37th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2015The effects of the dispersion pattern of a needle-free jet injector are explored. The shape of the jets were compared using a high-speed video camera and jet injections of collimated and dispersed fluid jets with a Lorentz-force actuated jet injector were made into acrylamide gel and post-mortem porcine tissue.

Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 1994
This is a discussion of concentrated large-scale flows in planetary atmospheres and oceans, argued from the viewpoint of basic geophysical fluid dynamics. We give several elementary examples in which these flows form jets on rotating spheres. Jet formation occurs under a variety of circumstances: when flows driven by external stress have a rigid ...

There is no jet substructure without jets. Jets are ubiquitous objects in collider physics, which have been used for 40 years. This Chapter discusses the concept jets as collimated sprays of particles (or flows of energy). It also introduces the algorithms which are used for their practical definitions, basic experimental aspects and the software ...

Jet Interaction with a Primary Jet and an Array of Smaller Jets
AIAA Journal, 2004A combined experimental-numerical study of the jet interaction flowfield associated with sonic injection of a gas into a turbulent, high-speed crossflow (M=4.0) was conducted with an innovative configuration for jet-thruster applications. This configuration consists of a sonic primary jet, flanked by arrays of smaller secondary sonic injectors that ...

Jet-Jet and Jet-Wall Interactions of Transient Jets from Multi-Hole Injectors
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1999<div class="htmlview paragraph">Interactions between the jets in a multi-hole injector and between the jet and the wall may affect the fuel-air mixing processes in a direct-injection Diesel engine. These interactions are the subject of the investigation in this work.

In order to define a metric on jet space, linear scale space is considered from a statistical standpoint. Given a scale σ, the scale space solution can be interpreted as maximizing a certain Gaussian posterior probability, related to a particular Tikhonov regularization.
