Erosion Testing and Surface Preparation Using Abrasive Water-Jetting

Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, 2004
Erosion testing and surface preparation are studied using a 3-axis Computer Numerical Control (CNC) abrasive water jetting (AWJ) apparatus. The effects of erosion time t, impingement angle α and pressure p on the erosion rate E, average surface roughness Ra, and surface hardness Rockwell C Hardness (HRC) were investigated in detail.

Erosion testing of laser-cladding layers by abrasive water-jetting

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2005
Abstract Laser cladding is an advanced technique to improve the erosion resistance of the surface of parts. The erosion testing of five laser-cladding layers (METCO 81NS, METCO 430NS, SM 5847, HF147, AMDRY 302) was studied using three-axis CNC (computer numerical control) abrasive water-jetting (AWJ) at various erosion times t and various impingement

An alternative method for interpreting jet erosion test (JET) data: part 1. Theory

Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, 2017
AbstractThe jet erosion test (JET) is a widely applied method for deriving the erodibility of cohesive soils and sediments. There are suggestions in the literature that further examination of the method widely used to interpret the results of these erosion tests is warranted.

Effect of Water Temperature and  Salinity on the Jet Erosion Test (JET)  Discharge Coefficient

Journal of Natural Resources and Agricultural Ecosystems
Highlights The JET discharge coefficient Cd was negatively correlated to water temperature and positively correlated to salinity. The impact of water temperature was more significant than that of salinity, especially at lower temperatures.
