Whipping Instabilities in Electrified Liquid Jets
A liquid jet may develop different types of instabilities, like the so-called Rayleigh-Plateau instability, which breaks the jet into droplets. However, another type of instabilities may appear when we electrify a liquid jet and induce some charge at his

Temperature‐Tunable Heliconical and Ferroelectric Nematics for White Lasing
The discovery of the ferroelectric nematic (NF) phase in 2017 and the spontaneous symmetry‐breaking of the ferroelectric twist‐bend nematic (NTBF)phase in 2024 have made major breakthroughs in the context of self‐assembly materials. This study presents pioneering temperature and voltage‐tunable lasing in both phases, demonstrating multicolor and in ...

Aging of CuO nanoparticles (NP) involves a surface reconstruction induced by hydroxylation and concurrent organic‐O adsorption, which introduces O defects in the NP subsurface region. The defective surface results in a diffuse surface space region, as reflected by a low ζ‐potential of the aged NPs in ethanol solvent.

A molecular motor with four‐state dynamic chirality is integrated into liquid crystals, enabling quadruple sequential helix inversions and high helical twisting power. Due to high motor efficiency, the supramolecular helicity can be controlled by near‐infrared light via upconversion nanoparticles, resulting in a robust, multistate, photoresponsive soft
