A theory for one-dimensional incompressible jets of an ideal fluid in a constant pressure atmosphere is presented based on a general theory published earlier by the authors. Governing equations are derived for the general case of a jet in motion along a time-dependent curve.

A review of the state-of-the-art nanofluid spray and jet impingement cooling
, 2020Nanofluid spray/jet impingement cooling is widespread and finds applications in many scientific and industrial paradigms. Because of these ubiquities of nanofluid spray/jet impingement cooling, this branch of fluid dynamics has attracted great attention ...

A one dimensional theory of compressible inviscid fluid jets is established using a direct Cosserat type theory in contrast to procedures in which one dimensional equations are obtained by approximations of those used for a three dimensional theory. Applications are made to straight jets and circular rings.

Effects of magnetic field on micro cross jet injection of dispersed nanoparticles in a microchannel
International journal of numerical methods for heat & fluid flow, 2019Purpose Water/Al2O3 nanofluid with volume fractions of 0, 0.3 and 0.06 was investigated inside a rectangular microchannel. Jet injection of nanofluid was used to enhance the heat transfer under a homogeneous magnetic field with the strengths of Ha = 0 ...

AbstractThe quenching process within the heat treatment of workpieces can be optimized by applying locally adapted quenching conditions. Locally variable heat transfer conditions at the workpiece surface are realizable by impressing and regulation of adjustable flexible flow fields on the basis of arrays for jet flow impingings on surfaces inside the ...

Jet with variable fluid properties: Free jet and dissipative jet
International Journal of Non-Linear Mechanics, 2016Abstract An analysis of the laminar jet of an incompressible Newtonian fluid emerging from a narrow slot or a circular hole, where the physical properties like viscosity and thermal conductivity depends upon the temperature, is given. Both the cases: the case of In the absence of viscous heat dissipation and the case of In the presence of viscous ...

Impinging free jets of ideal fluid
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1998This paper studies the impinging of two ideal fluid jets. The usual two-dimensional model of jet flow uses an ideal, incompressible, weightless fluid to describe these impinging jets, so that the problem becomes one of complex analysis which seems to have an infinite number of analytical solutions, except for direct jet impacts.

Edge effect in fluid jet polishing
Applied Optics, 2006The edge effect is one of the most important subjects in optical manufacturing. The removal function at different positions of the sample in the process of fluid jet polishing (FJP) is investigated in the experiments. Furthermore, by using finite-element analysis (FEA), the distributions for velocity and pressure of slurry jets are simulated ...
