Numerical Simulation of Entrainment by Jet Flow Characteristics in Spray Semi-dry Desulfurization Tower

open access: yes发电技术, 2018
The characteristics of entrainment by jet flow in the spray semi-dry flue gas desulphurization tower have an important influence on the mixing of the flue gas and the absorbent in the tower and the uniform distribution of the flow field.

Distribution limit of jet flow in the same and dissimilar phases of ambient fluid [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و مهندسی آبیاری, 2016
In this article we studied the distribution limits of jet injection in the same phase and dissimilar phase ambient. To achieve the proposes of this research a physical model was set upped consist of experimental flume and related accessories, circular ...

Jet injection studies for partially baffled mixing reactors: a general correlation for the jet trajectory and jet penetration depth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper is devoted to the analysis of the jet trajectories, obtained using computational fluid dynamics (CFD), at two different scales (laboratory and industrial) with application to quenching of runaway reactions. One of the goals was to describe how

Breakup behaviours and spray characteristics of liquid jets injected from twin-fluid atomizer into crossflow

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2021
Liquid fuel-only injection into combustion air is widely used in gas turbine combustors for power generation, particularly in large capacity type. This combustion air goes by the name of ‘crossflow’.

Homogeneous turbulence in a random-jet-stirred tank [PDF]

open access: yesExperiments in Fluids, 64:185 (2023), 2023
We report an investigation into random-jet-stirred homogeneous turbulence generated in a vertical octagonal prism shaped tank where there are jet arrays on four of the eight vertical faces. We show that the turbulence is homogeneous at all scales in the central region of the tank that spans multiple integral scales in all directions.

Slender axisymmetric fluid jets

open access: yesMathematical and Computer Modelling, 1993
Fluid fibres and jets are described, in general, by free boundary Navier Stokes problems. If the ratio of the cross section of the jet is small compared to the axial length scale of the jet or fibre, then the free boundary problem can be significantly simplified, and a greatly simplified system of (nonlinear) partial differential equations obtained. In

Laser Fragmentation Synthesis of Colloidal Bismuth Ferrite Particles

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
Laser fragmentation of colloidal submicron-sized bismuth ferrite particles was performed by irradiating a liquid jet to synthesize bismuth ferrite nanoparticles. This treatment achieved a size reduction from 450 nm to below 10 nm.

Reynolds number dependence of scalar fluctuations in a high Schmidt number turbulent jet [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The scalar rms fluctuations in a turbulent jet were investigated experimentally, using high-resolution, laser-induced fluorescence techniques. The experiments were conducted in a high Schmidt number fluid (water), on the jet centerline, over a jet ...

Numerical Simulation of Formation and Breakup of a Three-Fluid Compound Jet

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2011
The formation and breakup of an axisymmetric immiscible, viscous, laminar compound jet flowing vertically downward into and breaking up in another immiscible liquid is studied numerically.
