A Proof‐of‐Principle Demonstration: Exploring the Effect of Anode Layer Microstructure on the Alkaline Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Highlighting the importance of anode microstructure for alkaline OER, ultrasonic spray coating is applied at two different temperatures. This proof‐of‐concept approach yielded varied morphologies, structures, wettability and mechanical strength. These variations led to noticeable performance changes in activity after 8 h of measurements, comparing the ...

Investigation on surface wave morphologies of a low-intermediate pressure jet with non-circular nozzles

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
The high-speed photography, large eddy simulation, and coupled level set and volume-of-fluid methods were used to study the initial flow structures, the wave morphologies, and the instantaneous velocity distributions of three-dimensional jets from non ...

A Pitching Foil with a Flexible flap Creates an Orderly Jet [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
We experimentally studied the effect of flexibility on the flow produced by sinusoidally pitching foil in quiescent fluid. The rigid foil produces a weak, divergent and meandering jet. On the contrary, the foil with a flexible flap produces an orderly, narrow, coherent jet.

Evidence for Highly Relativistic Velocities in the Kiloparsec-Scale Jet of the Quasar 3C\,345 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we use radio polarimetric observations of the jet of the nearby bright quasar 3C\,345 to estimate the fluid velocity on kiloparsec scales. The jet is highly polarized, and surprisingly, the electric vector position angles in the jet are ``twisted'' with respect to the jet axis. Simple models of magnetized jets are investigated in order to

MXene 3D/4D Printing: Ink Formulation and Electrochemical Energy Storage Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A comprehensive study of MXene printing technique is presented, focusing on MXene ink formulation, surface chemistry, rheological characteristics, physical storage, and ink stability. Different printing techniques, such as 3D/4D printing, screen printing, inkjet printing, and continuous liquid interface production printing along with their applications

CFD Simulation of a Temperature Control System for Galvanizing Line of Metal Band Based on Jet Cooling Heat Transfer

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The work focuses on the development of a thermo-fluid dynamic simulation model of a section of close cooling, called a jet cooler, inserted in the galvanizing line of metal band production.

To be, or not to be... -instabilities on a liquid jet penetrated into a flowing bath- [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
We conduct a series of experiments with a special interest on a penetration process and instabilities arisen on a liquid jet impinged to a liquid of the same kind flowing in a channel. The impinged jet penetrates into the flowing bath accompanying with entrainment of the ambient immiscible gas, which results in the impinged jet wrapped by the entrained

Application of Multiphase Particle Methods in Atomization and Breakup Regimes of Liquid Jets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Multiphase Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method has been used to study the jet breakup phenomena. It has been shown that this method is well capable of capturing different jet breakup characteristics. The value obtained for critical Weber number here in transition from dripping to jetting is a very good match to available values in literature ...

Multi‐Scaled Cellulosic Nanonetworks from Tunicates

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Microbial and plant nanonetworks of cellulose have enabled a wide range of high‐performance yet sustainable materials. Herein, a third class of cellulosic nanonetworks is showcased by exploiting the only animal tissue‐producing cellulose nanofibers, i.e., ascidians. An ultrastructure including spherical cells and a microvasculature with diameters of 50–

Technology of double casing tubes & a binary cycle system for hole cleaning for CBM multi-branch horizontal wells

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2017
At present, the aeration-assisted cutting-carrying technology is faced with complexities in the drilling of CBM multi-branch horizontal wells. For example, the aerating pressure is hardly maintained, and the borehole instability may happen.
