CFD investigation on the influence of jet velocity of oil-jet lubricated ball bearing on the characteristics of lubrication flow field

2015 International Conference on Fluid Power and Mechatronics (FPM), 2015
Oil-jet lubrication which is widely applied in aero engine, turbo machinery, high power transmission system is one of the most common form of the high speed bearing lubrication. The complex oil-air two-phase flow will exist in the cavity of the oil-jet lubricated high speed rolling bearing because of the stirring of the rolling elements and the cage ...

Effects of pulse voltage on piezoelectric micro-jet for lubrication

Microsystem Technologies, 2016
A novel piezoelectric micro-jet for bearing lubrication is presented in this paper, and the micro-jet is working at the slapping mode. The micro-jet is embedded in the bearing system, and add little mass or volume of the system. In order to meet the different requirements for different applications and to improve the injection performance of the micro ...

Elemental analysis of jet engine lubrication oil and jet fuel using in-air PIXE

International Journal of PIXE, 2018
To understand the elemental characteristics of the exhaust particles from a jet aircraft, we performed an element analysis using an in-air PIXE system of the different lubrication oils of a jet engine (Mobil Jet Oil II, Mobil Jet Oil 254 and Eastman Turbo Oil 2380) and the jet fuel (JET A-1) to determine the effects on the exhaust particles.

A simulation analysis for lubricating characteristics of an oil-jet lubricated ball bearing

Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory, 2021
Abstract Lubricating characteristics of support bearings in gearboxes would greatly affect operational performances of gear transmission systems. To discuss the lubricating characteristics of oil-jet lubricated ball bearing in the gearbox, a fluid-structure coupled simulation model based on the CFD method is established.

Temperature measurement and error analysis of the transverse plane of oil-jet-lubrication herringbone gear with infrared pyrometers.

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2023
Frictional power losses of high-speed and heavy-load herringbone gearboxes increase the temperature of the gearbox. Thus, real-time surface temperature measurement is significant for evaluating the gearbox lubrication design.

Comparative Analysis of the Lubrication, Friction, and Wear of Injection System Materials, with Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosene, Jet-A, and ULSD

SAE technical paper series, 2023
Alternative fuels are sought after because they produce lower emissions and sometimes, they have feedstock and production advantages over fossil fuels, but their wear effects on engine components are largely unknown.
